Call to Worship One: This is the day the Lord has made! All: We will rejoice! We are glad! One: This is the day the Lord has made – a perfect day for miracles! All: God’s provision is such a miracle! The Lord knows how to meet our needs – even before we know we have a need. One: This is the day the Lord has made – a day not so different from the day God quenched the peoples’ thirst with water from a rock. All: Our souls thirst for you O Lord. We thank you, Jesus Christ – the Living Water, for watering all the dry places of our lives. Thank you for thirst-quenching mercies that are new every morning. Amen and Amen.. Praise & Worship First Report Prayer
The Spoken Word \"Holy Hydration\" Exodus 17:1-7 Pastor Eleanor Colvin Sermon Notes Key Scriptures: Exodus 17:2 (NIV) - So they quarreled with Moses and said, “Give us water to drink.” Moses replied, “Why do you quarrel with me? Why do you put the Lord to the test?” Numbers 20:5 (NIV) - Why did you bring us up out of Egypt to this terrible place? It has no grain or figs, grapevines or pomegranates. And there is no water to drink!” Exodus 17:4 (NIV) - Then Moses cried out to the Lord, “What am I to do with these people? They are almost ready to stone me.” Exodus 17:5-6 (NIV) - The Lord answered Moses, “Go out in front of the people. Take with you some of the elders of Israel and take in your hand the staff with which you struck the Nile, and go. I will stand there before you by the rock at Horeb. Strike the rock, and water will come out of it for the people to drink.” So Moses did this in the sight of the elders of Israel.
Sermon Notes Key Questions: 1. What do you sip from the most: your cup of complaints or the Lord’s Living Water? 2. Are there any situations or times that you ask like the Israelites: is the Lord among us or not? (Ex. 12:7) 3. Do your spiritual practices keep you hydrated? Are there any dry areas in your life or in your relationship with God that need watering? ____________________________________________________ ____________________________________________________ ____________________________________________________ ____________________________________________________ ____________________________________________________ ____________________________________________________ ____________________________________________________ ____________________________________________________ ____________________________________________________ ____________________________________________________ ____________________________________________________ ____________________________________________________ ____________________________________________________ ____________________________________________________ ____________________________________________________ ____________________________________________________
