Call to Worship One: We remember, O God – All: The countless saints of history, who spread the Gospel and made your name known all over the world. One: We remember, O God – All: Loved ones, who taught us about your love. One: We remember, O God – All: The strength of grandparents, the loyalty of friends, the kindness of strangers, the joy of children, the sacrifice of parents – all experienced in church. One: We remember Christ, All: As we experience Christ, in the lives of his disciples –young and old, living and deceased, articulate and quiet, brilliant and ordinary. One: We remember the saints of God — All: In every time and every place, who have shown us the Lord. Come, let us worship — with all the saints!

Colvin Sermon Notes Key Scriptures:   Hebrews 12:1-2 — Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. John 10:27 — My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. Psalm 23:1 — The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want. [KJV] Psalm 23:1 — The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing. [NIV] Psalm 23:1 — The Lord is my shepherd, I have all I need. [NLT] Psalm 79:13 — Then we your people, the sheep of your pasture, will praise you forever; from generation to generation we will proclaim your praise.

Key Questions: 1.Who is in your Great Cloud of Witnesses? Who are the ancestors that taught you to walk by faith and walk faithfully? 2.What do you hear them saying to you? In what way are they cheering you on today? 3. As the sheep of God’s pasture — what do you hear the voice of the Good Shepherd saying? What truth is God reminding you of? What lies is the Good Shepherd refuting? 4. Are you running your race or swerving into the lane of other sheep?
