Call to Worship One: Beloved -- come let us worship the Lord! All: God loves us and that's a good reason to Praise! One: Beloved -- come let us follow the Lord. All: God bless my walk! We know that to be a disciple is to walk with Christ. To be a disciple is to walk like Christ. One: Beloved -- come let us serve the Lord. All: No more spiritual snoozing – the Lord desires to use us. God bless our lives so that they might lead others to you. Amen.

The Spoken Word “Stop Snoozing! God Is Trying to Use You!” John 1:43-51 and 1 Samuel 3:1-10 Rev. Eleanor L. Colvin Sermon Notes Key Scriptures:   John 1:43 – The next day Jesus decided to leave for Galilee. Finding Philip, he said to him, “Follow me.” John 1:47-48 – Then Jesus saw Nathanael approaching, he said of him, “Here truly is an Israelite in whom there is no deceit.” “How do you know me?” Nathanael asked. Jesus answered, “I saw you while you were still under the fig tree before Philip called you.” 1 Samuel 3:8-10 – A third time the Lord called, “Samuel!” And Samuel got up and went to Eli and said, “Here I am; you called me.” Then Eli realized that the Lord was calling the boy. So Eli told Samuel, “Go and lie down, and if he calls you, say, ‘Speak, Lord, for your servant is listening.’” So Samuel went and lay down in his place. The Lord came and stood there, calling as at the other times, “Samuel! Samuel!” Then Samuel said, “Speak, for your servant is listening.”

Sermon Notes Key Scriptures: 1 Samuel 3:11 – And the Lord said to Samuel: “See, I am about to do something in Israel that will make the ears of everyone who hears about it tingle…” Key Questions: 1. What miracles are you anticipating in 2021? What word is God speaking that will make “ears tingle”….? 2.Do you recognize the voice of the Lord when it calls you? Is your heart open inviting the Lord to speak like Samuel, or are you more cautious like Nathanael? 3.Eli helped Samuel hear God’s voice clearly. Who in your life helps you hear and understand God’s word? Phillip helped Nathanael answer God’s call. Who are you leading to walk with Christ? 4.Are you a disciple who sleeps on the job? ______________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________
