Northeastern Pennsylvania Council, BSA Venturing Officers Association Nepabsa.org/venturing ~~ [email protected] As summer turned into fall, the Venturing Officers Association of the Northeastern Pennsylvania Council, BSAcontinued with a great year. September and October saw major events for the NEPA VOA: Venturers helping out atWoodbadge, the Insomniacs Revenge, Hammer and Saw day, and more. More can be read about the past few months’events below. Now, the VOA is looking forward. December will see the annual VOA holiday lock- in. 50 Venturers will gather on December 14- 15 at St. Mary’s inAvoca to participate in activities ranging from a Lego competition to Jeopardy. If you are a Venturer interested inattending, go to our page on the council website to check it out. Also, if you are a Venturer interested in joining the VOA,you should also check out this page for information on special pricing for new members. Come on out and have some fun! January is sure to be packed as well, beginning with the Introduction to Leadership Skills for Crews (ILSC) Train theTrainer course to be held on Sunday, January 6th, 2013 at the Scout Service and Training Center in Moosic. The day willfocus on teaching participants the skills necessary to conduct and ILSC course within their crews. Later in January, theVOA will be hosting the 2013 Venturing Winter Olympics at Frances Slocum on a day to be announced. Venturers inattendance will participate in a wide array of super fun sports competitions. Thus far, the 2012- 2013 season for the VOA is one for the record books, but there’s still much more to go. A special shout- be held on May 17- 19, 2013 right out goes to the Area 5 officers from right here at Camp Acahela.
