PREFECT As a prefect, I have learnt the importance of servant leadership because leadership is not about elevating ourselves, but it's in understanding and supporting the people around, so that we can all work together to achieve a common goal. Hence, I have learnt the need to listen others and enable others to act. Being a prefect has also allowed me to step out of my comfort zone to serve and lead, and thus helping me grow in self confidence.

2019 iDiscover Finale Night 2019 Camp Committee

HEAD OF CCA In my journey as a CCA leader, I faced many challenges like working with EXCO members of different working styles, and having to manage changes in plans due to various circumstances or teachers’ feedback. Through these, I have learnt the importance of communication with others and being adaptable. Being able to lead my juniors also taught me the importance of having meaningful conversations. I enjoyed talking to them and getting to know them on a personal basis.

CCA Camp 2019 CCA Executive Committee 2019-2020

Hospital Attachment at Sengkang General Hospital HOSPITAL ATTACHMENT The 5-day attachment to Sengkang General Hospital was an eye opening experience, as I learnt more about the field of Medicine and Social Sciences. This experienced further fuelled my passion in the field of Social Sciences and I would like to continue to learn more about human behaviour and interaction.

MISSION TRIP TO PATTAYA In 2017, I spent 9 Days in Pattaya, Thailand doing mission work. During my stay, we visited places such us the Children's Village, Day Care Centre, School for the Blind, School for Children with Special Needs and even sat down for a conversation with those studying at the Technological College for People with Disabilities. An experience which impacted me the most was during my visit to the School for children with Special Needs. During the visit, I learned the ways of how we can interact with people with special needs. For example, I remembered vividly that the children really enjoyed playing games and dancing with us. That experience allowed me to better understand the various challenges of people with special needs. The opportunities I had, made me realise the greater community there was out of Singapore. These valuable experiences made me more understanding and more grateful of what I have now.

The SJB team for 2018 First Aid and Home Nursing Competition

2018 & 2019 ZONAL FIRST AID AND HOME NURSING COMPETITION Having participated in this competition for 2 years, I learnt multiple skills and values such as teamwork, communication and perseverance. Training was definitely tough the few months leading up to the competition. Having to balance school and CCA brought about a whole set of challenges. However, having my team-mates there was comforting as we could rely on one another and cheer each other on. In both years, though my team and I did not  win the Top 3 positions, we felt that we already had won in our own ways. At the end of the day, our team emerged more bonded and more determined. We realised that the process of learning was as important as actually achieving our objectives of the competition.

Final Night- Performance by children 2018-2019 CHILDREN'S DRAMA WORKSHOP I love children and spending time with them because they just have such carefree personalities and are always inquisitive. I have facilitated two of the Children's Drama workshops. There were definitely challenging but fulfilling experiences. Having to take care of children between the age of four to six was not an easy task but I was glad to work together with a group my of friends. Through the use of drama, the children could express themselves and had fun. These workshops, it also taught me to be more patient and understanding.
