5-3 Sound test Before Grinding wheel mounted in Grinding wheel head, place it on center shaft, strike it with a wood hammer, the sound shall be clear. Never use the Grinding wheel that is not usable based on such test. 5-4 Mounting Grinding wheel Mount Grinding wheel shall require experienced operators who shall softly push it into the fastener. Do not force it in. Grinding wheel side and between with the fastener shall be added elastic ring. Do not use paper for fixing the sides of Grinding wheel for wet grinding otherwise, when it gets dry, it will cause Grinding wheel loose; retaining nut should be tightened up to ensure Grinding wheel is secured firmly but excessive tightening is not recommended. Check tightness often is highly recommended. 5-5 Grinding wheel balance Calibrate When obtain perfect grinding finish is desired, carefully Calibrate Grinding wheel is essential. When Calibrate, one can use balancer or balance scale or electronic power balancer. Delivered with M/C, Grinding wheel and its fastener all have been conducted dynamic and static balance. However, check often is required due to Grinding wheel wearing. New Grinding wheel normally is balanced, and can be used right after sound test. Calibrate its balance is recommended after a period of use. When grinding to use Grinding/cutting liquid, idle run for 15 minutes is necessary for Grinding wheel to cause Grinding wheel orifices moisture escape to avoid bias. 5-6 Test run Before use of any Grinding wheel, test run at maxi. Allowable speed for 5 minutes is required and nobody shall stand near it. Only Grinding wheel that pass the test can be used. Please observe the max. allowable speed, do not exceed it. 51

5-7 Dressing Grinding wheel shall often be maintained in circular manner, and irregular Grinding wheel can be maintained in circular manner through appropriate Dresser Dressing. 5-8 Dry grinding Dry grinding operator shall wear protective glasses and dust shall be removed if worked for long. 52

Upon turning on the program, pressing “completion ahead of time” at any time will enable processing sequence to directly complete the spark out operation. O. Rapid feed: It is manual fee. When the program is turned on, due to the gap between work piece and Grinding wheel is slightly big, rapid feed shall be used to increase the feed speed. However, the moving distance of each “Pressing” will be equal to rough feed stroke. P. Standard : When you push “ STANDARD “ , it’ll display “ REPEAT “ under auto mode.Please start the program , then fast feed into the position of sparkout. 8-3NC Cylindrical Grinder Grinding Point Setting Manual 1、PLUNGE GRINDING: 1-1、Power ON. 1-2、Hydraulic ON (1-2.1) (Note the right/left slide table hydraulic switch need in MANUAL mode (1-2.2) 1-3、Press ‘PLUNGE’ in control panel. 1-4、Put the workpiece on the machine. 1-5、Note the Handwheel for front/rear grinding wheel slide table needs to turn to retract (anti-clockwise), need to have a safety distance more than 40mm, this is to avoid the wheel move ‘rapid infeed (40mm)’ to hit the workpiece. 1-6、In Manual mode、press Rapid Infeed (ST). 1-7、Use the Handwheel for right/left slide table (left side handwheel) to move the workpiece to the grinding position、use the Handwheel for front/rear wheel slide table (right side handwheel, to turn clockwise for wheel infeed) to move the wheel close the workpiece. 1-8、Close the door (1-8.1)、Work spindle ON (1-8.2). 1-9、Grinding wheel ON. 1-10、Use the Handwheel for front/rear wheel slide table (right side handwheel, turn clockwise for wheel infeed (1-10.1)、move the grinding wheel to touch the workpiece lightly and now this point is Grinding Point position (1-10.2) (when wheel touched the workpiece lightly, switch coolant ON in manual mode). 1-11、Switch to SEMI-AUTO mode. 1-12、Press Rapid Retract (SP). 1-13、Parameters setting – input total infeed (total grinding amount) 、input Rough Grinding Speed & Fine Grinding Speed、input Sparkout times. 1-14、Switch to AUTO mode、Switch the Coolant to Auto mode, then can press Cycle Start (ST). 78

Also can move the Handwheel for front/rear grinding wheel slide table (right side handwheel, to turn clockwise for wheel infeed) to infeed to near the workpiece. 2-8、Switch the right/left slide table hydraulic switch to AUTO mode. 2-9、Close the door. 2-10、Work spindle ON. 2-11、Grinding wheel ON. 2-12、Use the Handwheel for front/rear wheel slide table (right side handwheel, turn clockwise for wheel infeed (2-12.1)、move the grinding wheel to touch the workpiece lightly and now this point is Grinding Point position (2-12.2) (when wheel touched the workpiece lightly, switch coolant ON in manual mode). 2-13、Switch to SEMI-AUTO mode. 2-14、Press Rapid Retract (SP). 2-15、Parameters setting – input total infeed (total grinding amount) 、input Rough Grinding Speed & Fine Grinding Speed、input Sparkout times、choose Bilateral infeed or Right side infeed or Left side infeed. 2-16、Switch to AUTO mode、Switch the Coolant to Auto mode, then can press Cycle Start (ST). 83

With Internal Grinding Attachment - Grinding Point Setting Manual 3、Internal Grinding - TRAVERSE GRINDING: 3-1、Power ON. 3-2、Hydraulic ON (3-2.1) (Note the right/left slide table hydraulic switch need in MANUAL mode (3-2.2)). 3-3、Press ‘FUNCTION’ in control panel. 3-4、Press ‘INTERNAL GRIND’ “ON” ( now Wheel Rapid will auto infeed ). 3-5、Press ‘BACK’ to upper page. 3-6、Press ‘TRAVERSE’ in control panel. 3-7、Put the workpiece on the machine. 3-8、Measure the workpiece internal grinding length, mark it on the internal grinding wheel arbor ( grinding stone exceed about 1/3 of grinding area ). 3-9、Use the Handwheel for right/left slide table (left side handwheel) to move the workpiece to left side to the grinding arbor marked position (3-9.1), set left side DOG (3-9.2). 3-10、Use the Handwheel for right/left slide table (left side handwheel) to move the workpiece to right side to the grinding area about 2/3 grinding wheel position (3-10.1), set right side DOG (3-10.2). 3-11、Switch the right/left slide table hydraulic switch to AUTO mode. 3-12、Close the door. 3-13、Work spindle ON. (Optional) 3-14、Grinding wheel ON. 3-15、Use the Handwheel for front/rear wheel slide table (right side handwheel, turn clockwise for wheel infeed (2-12.1), move the grinding wheel to touch the workpiece lightly and now this point is Grinding Point position (when wheel touched the workpiece lightly, switch coolant ON in manual mode). 3-16、Switch to SEMI-AUTO mode. 3-17、Press Rapid Retract (SP) ( In Internal Grinding mode, wheel will only retract Grinding Point distance and not retract Rapid Retract, if no any value in Safety Distance, it will retract the Factory Setting distance 0.1mm, if set a value in Safety Distance, it will retract Safety Distance + 0.1mm Factory Setting distance ). 3-18、Parameters setting – input total infeed (total grinding amount)、input Rough Grinding Speed & Fine Grinding Speed、input Sparkout times、( Internal Grinding mode only have Right side infeed, no bilateral infeed). 3-19、Switch to AUTO mode、Switch the Coolant to Auto mode, then can press Cycle Start (ST). 89
