Dr. Wound BioHeal Gel For all types of wound Contains: including burns Chitosan Biopolymer How it works? Protect and heal at the same time by forming \"secondary skin\" at the wound site Chitosan biopolymer depolymerizes to release N-acetyl-β-D- glucosamine that initiates fibroblast proliferation during the process of wound healing. The monomers help in the deposition of collagen and stimulate natural hyaluronic acid synthesis at the wound site. It provides a cellulosic matrix for the regeneration of skin tissues and activates macrophages to stop abnormal growth activity

Advantages and Disadvantages of the Product Advantages Easy to apply. Can reduce scarring and keloids. Versatile; can be applied to all types of wound Have antibacterial properties Disadvantages Low mechanical resistance. Not really a stable form. May have maceration around the wound area due to high water content in the gel. Needs secondary dressing

Betadine Antiseptic Cream Contains: Indications: Povidone-Iodine 5% w/w Treatment for cuts, scratches, burns, grazes Have broad or conditions where skin antimicrobial effect ! is broken Preventative measure before piercing skin How does it works? Povidone-iodine is a combination of iodine and a water soluble polymer known as polyvinylpyrrolidone. The antimicrobial action of povidone-iodine occurs after iodine disassociates from the complex. Once in the free form, iodine rapidly penetrates microbial cell membranes and interacts with proteins, nucleotides, and fatty acids in the cytoplasm and cytoplasmic membrane. This interaction ultimately results in rapid cell death.

Advantages and Disadvantages of the product Advantages Can be applied once or twice daily, but repeated applications depends on the wound conditions No need for secondary dressings such as gauze Can be applied anywhere without supervision of professionals Disadvantages Experts agree that Betadine is too harsh for wounds. May cause kidney problem, high blood sodium, and metabolic acidosis if applied to large wounds

BIOPAD WOUND DRESSING Contains Type I Equine Collagen Indications 1.Pressure injuries 2.Surgical wounds 3.Draining wounds 4.Venous ulcers 5.Diabetic ulcers 6.Partial- and full-thickness wounds 7.Dehisced wounds How it works? Collagen helps numerous cells including fibroblast to migrate the wound bed, which have a major role in boosting tissue growth there. Wounds usually develop excessive matrix metalloproteinase (MMP), which can interfere with the wound healing process. Collagen binds to MMP and inactivate it therefore wound healing process can be carry out by our body.

Advantages and disadvantages of the product Advantages Protects wound bed from outer environment and other infective agents. Can absorb exudates in the wound bed. Waterproof and transparent with absorbent pad High flexibility. Disadvantages May have an unpleasant smell due to exudates absorbed into the dressing. Hard to apply when patient is alone. Have limited antibacterial activity.
