ADOR2 Automatic Turkey Door The new ADOR2 has a 20\" tall opening by 12.5\" wide. With a stronger motor it is nearly impossible to pry open. In most all ways it is like the ADOR1 but it is 29\" tall and add 15.5\" when the door is up/open (44.5\" tall), and 13.5\" wide. Read about the ADOR1 and you will learn most of what you need to know about the ADOR2. The ADOR2 runs on nominal 6 volts. We recommend a 6V rechargeable battery. The ADOR2 usually ships within a few days of order but please call for availability if you need to.
Power Adapter We get some inquiries about running the ADOR1 on \"electric\" -- meaning \"house current' or ~115V AC. The ADOR1 was designed to run for a year on a cheap 6V lantern battery so this seemed to me to be unnecessary. Reports we get are that most people get 6 months to more than a year on 6V dry cell lantern batteries -- but sometimes we get reports of less than that. It could be variation in the battery's initial energy capacity or the toll of temperature cycling on the battery. We have decided at least for now that we cannot compete with some of the low cost3rd party solutions of AC powering and Rechargeable battery. There are also low costsmall solar panels available -- I've seen small 6V solar charger and 6V rechargeablebattery combinations on Amazon for only ~$25.So rather than resell it here, we suggest you purchase at your local store or online. Ibought this battery and charger for little more than $9 each at Walmart.
Remote Button connector for ADOR The ADOR button on the front panel is a momentary, normally open switch. The connection pins on the ADOR electronic board are wired in parallel across this switch so the internal switch should still work. With this two-wire connector, you can put a pushbutton switch (like an ordinary un-lighted doorbell switch) somewhere else. A remote switch should be placed where you can still see the door to see that it did as you wanted. This kit comes with a \"pigtail\" of wires and a 2-pin female connector that slides overtwo pins on the connector for options. The pins stick up off the top of the board. The electronic board comes with a jumperthat shorts out pin 1 and 2. So counting from right to left: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, you connectthe remote button connector on pins 5 & 6. No polarity. Note that these two pins areclosest to the front of the ADOR.
