Fifteenth Edition – June 2021 From JM’s Desk... Reward & Recognition is a business as well as human necessity and a win-win concept. Productivity goes up and positivity at work increases. High-visibility R&R programs automatically become a form of employee engagement and help to build the employer brand. Material rewards are encouraging and recognition in front of peers makes one feel very good because that appreciation is for a job well done. At Omni in MO, we too have brought the spotlight on performing employees. Your work is valued and appreciated. In the last financial year, it was largely through mailers, messages on WhatsApp groups, contest winners, OmniPresence and the annual Omni Trailblazer awards which afforded lavish attention to the business champions. Incidentally, on the incentive front, 91% of RM and Advisors earned incentives in FY21. This year, two specific factors will make a difference in getting RM and Advisors to not only earn incentives but earn much more that they did last year: non-broking sales i.e. Investment and Advisory Products which offer incentives apart from broking numbers and a sharper focus on margins which will enhance per-client revenue. We also had some drives where interaction with our CEO was the prize. Additionally, Omni Trailblazer Awards announced on Omni Day (1st October, every year) ensured that every winner was sent personalised gifts couriered to their house. Now we are going a step further and announcing Omni Ratna Awards. This will be our umbrella R&R brand and many Omniites will shine in the limelight as their achievements illuminate our performance metrics. All this is in addition to MO group level recognition which acknowledges your accomplishments and business triumphs on several parameters. Every reward is a recognition and sometimes the recognition itself is the reward. In Omni, you can win not just via the regular broking incentives (in which there is no upper limit to your earnings) but also through the various ongoing contests and drives going on from time to time in insurance, TGS, IAP, margins, SIP, PMS, AIF and many more products. R&R will be high-decibel in Omni this year and each of us will get the chance to shine, be seen as well as earn more. Grab the opportunity with both hands! And as always, aim high and do well!

Hardbound Impact! Author: Chet Holmes Book: The Ultimate Sales Machine Reviewer: Jayant Manglik, Omni This is the book which was once mandatory reading across Motilal Oswal group and was followed up by an exam on it! Take time out to read it & you will understand why it was so. The author is an acknowledged master of sales, and is a speaker at the best companies to help drive sales. The key theme of the book is simple: Follow few important things which will make a difference instead of trying anything and everything you come across. Not only is the author an expert in this field, he is also gifted in being able to translate his thoughts into text well with practical examples which clearly explain the concepts. Apart from 12 specific strategies, he underlines ‘pig-headed determination’ i.e. relentless focus as the most important ingredient to succeed. One powerful idea is the stadium pitch: What would you say if you had the initial attention of all possible buyers of your product but they could walk away at any time? Isn’t that the exact situation we are all in every day? Clearly this is something each of us must spend time thinking about. Another great idea is the one which Motilal Oswal group uses – the Dream Buyers list. It is even built into our Saathi CRM and works very well for those who use it. Go ahead and try it today! And the best thing is that all ideas in the book are simple to understand and apply, but ‘pig-headed determination’ is necessary to convert the idea to achievement. Overall it is a very, very good read. On my scale, this book scores 11 out of 10! Note: We gave out one copy to the winners of Omni Trailblazer Annual Awards on 1st October 2020 and will continue doing so in future. Or you can just buy the paperback version on Amazon!

The Other Side - Featuring: Ankur Khandelwal –Regional Head MP Social Work is Ankur’s other side! He has been associated with an NGO called “Ek Pahel”- translated to mean “a start”. The mission of this NGO is transformation of society through Education, Enrichment & Empowerment of the underprivileged. This is an NGO that works on several layers, ranging from education for underprivileged children, school dropouts, vocational training and also the conduct of medical camps. From its modest beginning in 2009 , this NGO which commenced its noble actions from the city of the Taj with just a few likeminded youngsters has grown today to include several benefactors that encompass society’s who’s-who. This has been possible only through the sustained effort and life transforming work carried out. Poverty alleviation through education of children who were hitherto exploited through child labour to a very unique concept called ‘School on Wheels “, Ek-Pahel is unique. The school on wheels is a mobile school that travels from location to location educating children through a concept of doorstep education. Commendable and laudable effort, to say the least .Medical camps focused on preventive and curative treatment to focused adolescent health camps and counselling. Vaccination drives to blood donation camps, they do it all! Hidden talents are meant to be brought to light and competitions to foster the identification of such talent is often conducted for children to build their confidence and enhance a more participative and competitive spirit amongst them. While focusing on the children, Ek-Pahel also maintains the development of the women through vocation development programs thus ensuring a balanced focus on building up of the family as a unit. A 360-degree impact on life is what Ek-Pahel aims to achieve. Countless children have benefited, innumerable women have had their lives transformed and families have been rebuilt. Societal transformation is the result of this mission – Ek-Pahel, a start that leads to a positive impact.
