The Land of Establishment “You healed the wounds of the Hijaz and healed the pain of Diriyah, removed the eastern division, sheltered the troubles of the south, and made Diriyah one again.” The roots of the Saudi state refer to the royal family Al Saud, which belongs to the Banu Hanifa of the Bakr bin Wael tribes that settled in the Arabian Peninsula and established a strong state in it before Islam. Banu Hanifa moved from their lands in the Hijaz to the center of the Arabian Peninsula in search of pastures, and that was about two centuries before Islam. Afterwards, they settled in a place known as Khadra Hajr because of the abundance of greenery. When Islam emerged, the leaders of Banu Hanifa in al-Yamama province embraced it with open arms and became believers of the Prophet Muhammad[PBUH]. Banu Hanifa became one of the supporters of Islam and the Islamic society during the era of Prophet Muhammad, may God bless him and grant him peace. After the Rashidun era, al-Yamamah fell from the care of The Umayyad state then neglected to unfortunately return to an unstable condition . Yamamah remained weak with no state worth mentioning for historians to record established in it. Jabal Towaiq Wadi Ha neefah Iqlim Al Yamamah
Al-DIR’IYAH “The day of my country’s founding is the truth of the truth.. and a jeweled story made by the heroes, told by children, and a gifted legacy to their breed.” - T h e E s t a b l i s h m e n t - Some people of Banu Hanifa left after the advent of Al-Akhdarys and settled in a site near Qatif which was later called Al-Diriyah beacuse of the protective shields of Banu Hanifa. Then, Mani' Al- Muraidi, the grandfather of the Al-Saud family, decided to move to Al-A'rid in Najd at the invitation of his cousin Ibn Dere' who offered them Al-Mulaibd and Ghusaiba to settle in and this was during the middle of the ninth century Hijri. They agreed and settled in the area that was later called Al-Dir'iyah which became a strong state under the rule of Al-Saud. - T h e R u l i n g - Rabia took over the ruling of Diriyah after the death of his founding father, Mani` Al-Muraydi, and continued to construct and expand the area. Then, in the year 1132 AH, Saud bin Muhammad bin Muqrin, after whom the royal family was named, took over the ruling of Diriyah. Prince Saud bin Muhammad took over in 1137 AH and had four sons, Muhammad (the founder of the First Saudi State), Thunayan, Mashari and Farhan. Consequently, the region became the center of change equipped to evolve into a centralized state which was elevated even further under the hands of the prince Muhammed bin Saud.
THE FOUNDATION OF Imam Muhammad bin Saud
THE FOUNDATION OF Imam Muhammad bin Saud Before, the political aspect was represented in the abundance of small emirates and the recurring conflicts between them which lead to instability. The religious aspect was characterized by the spread of heresies and superstitions such as worshipping another God. Imam Muhammad bin Saud realized the urgent need to change this political, economic and religious situation. Therefore, he worked to establish a state that can secure Stability, spreading pure faith, and achieving the development of society in the economic, scientific and cultural aspects for all the subjects of the state. Imam Muhammad bin Saud waited about 20 years for the establishment of the first Saudi state and the institution was not strong. Imam Muhammad bin Saud, who built the foundation of the state on Islam and brought stability to all Diriyah is convinced that the call for a strong state is needed. He met Imam Muhammad bin Saud bin Sheikh Muhammad bin Abd al-Wahhab in the year 1157 AH, and gave him full support for the appeal that aligned with its correct Islamic goals, the foundations of the first Saudi state.
SAUDIA ARABIA “ You wanted us to be in the books of history .. a nation. You wanted to blow the Islamic world.. a blessing. You Certainly made a shining history.. You dug with hardness good glory..” Unifying the Country When Imam Muhammad bin Saud established the first Saudi state in 1139 AH, he set out to unite the country and confront the campaigns against the state. Although princes of other countries and tribal leaders rejected the central unity and some leaders of the region tried to raise problems upon the first Saudi state, their attempts failed. As Al-Ahly adhered to the unfication plan of establishing the central Saudi state and supported it. The Country's Resilience The first Saudi state successfully achieved its primary goal of unifying the countries of the Arabian Peninsula into a single state, with its capital Diriyah (which became the center of trade, pilgrimage, caravan routes, a beacon of knowledge and science, politics and public affairs, and the assembly point for dignitaries and princes from across the Arabian Peninsula). Several enemies went against the first Saudi state to battle it as a result of its strength, expansion of influence, and message, which quickly disseminated across the Arabian Peninsula and beyond. Among the most prominent battles of the Saudis’ defense of their land and state is the Battle of Wadi As-Safra. Throughout the years, the Saudis took a solid stance to defend their state and citizens while adhering to their principles that provided them with stability, unity and prosperity.
