UNLOCKING ABILITIES

My name is Maya, and let me share with you the incredible journey I've been on. You see, I was born with a physical challenge that affected my legs, making it harder for me to move around like other kids. But let me tell you, my dreams were never limited by my condition. From a young age, I've always dreamt of soaring high in the sky, just like a bird. I wanted to prove to myself and the world that I could achieve greatness, despite my limitations. But I often wondered how I could make that dream a reality when my legs held me back. One day an advertisement that caught my attention. It was about a program that offered free training in sewing machine operations. I couldn't contain my excitement as I reached out to them, expressing my interest and longing for a chance to participate. Their warm response filled me with hope. They explained how the program worked and assured me that I could learn the skills needed, completely free of charge. It felt like a dream come true. In that factory, I blended in seamlessly, working diligently just like any other employee. My creativity and precision were recognized by my colleagues, and slowly but surely, I started making a name for myself. It wasn't just about employment; it was about making an identity, a mark in this world. With gratitude filling my heart, I want to thank Skill development for giving me the wings to fly. They have not only transformed my life but also inspired me to inspire others. My story is a testament to the fact that dreams can take flight, even for those of us with physical challenges.

GLIPMSE OF TRAINING SESSION

Establishing equality in all terms, skill development has successfully completed the training of 97 PWD (Person with Disability) candidates, under the DDU- GKY scheme (Deen Dayal Upadhaya Grameen Kaushal Yojana). STORIES FROM

DIFFERENT STATES

It's been over a year now that I've been working at Shahi and if I look back today when I started my sewing journey, I've come a long way. We took training on specialized machines, and our training was being done just like in a production company. After going there we were given ration, utensils, and a hostel facility to stay where we all girls used to live together. This experience was very beautiful because today I am able to earn and help my family financially. Nisha Kumari From- Bihar Unit -1, Shahi Bangalore I am working as an SMO operator in Royal in Bangalore. I am thankful to Shahi Exports Pvt Ltd for providing me with this training to become self-reliant and giving me such a wonderful opportunity to build my career when I was not able to find a job for my livelihood in my critical times.\" Pinky Panda From- Odisha Unit -28, Shahi Bangalore

\"In my village girls are not allowed for higher studies nor to work. Usually, the girls drop their studies after 10th std and are forced to get married. My parents were also bound to follow the social pressure, and belonging to a large family with low income this was bound to come upon me. I came to know about a CSR project by Nuvoco & Shahi in the near village which was delivering skill-driven placement-linked training. This training changed my life upside down. I have been working in the Shahi factory in Bangalore for a year now and I'm independent. I would like to suggest that each girl in the village grab this life-changing opportunity \" Sheetal Jagat From- Chhattisgarh Unit -07, Shahi Bangalore I had a passion for sewing and stitching from a young age. DDU-GKY gave me the opportunity to enhance my skills and become a seamstress. The program provided SMO training and focused on developing soft skills. Now, I have a respectable job, and I am proud to be self-dependent. DDU-GKY has transformed my life and empowered me to pursue my dreams in the world of sewing. our family consists of four members - my husband, daughter, son, and myself. Due to my husband's limited income from his private job, we face difficulties managing household expenses and our children's education costs. I always wanted to contribute to my family's well-being. Thanks to the support of Shahi Exports and New India Assurance, I learned about the Self-Employed Tailor program, specifically the Apparel Made-Ups and Home Furnishings course. I enrolled in the program and now I am a skilled and self-reliant tailor, working from home and earning a living through sewing. I am delighted that I can now support our household and contribute to our children's education. I am grateful to the Sector Skill Council, Shahi Exports, and New India Assurance for giving me this opportunity. I take pride in what I have achieved today. Kavita devi Chenani (Jammu & Kashmir) I am not enough educated to get any job and didn’t have any source of income. I always had a dream to become Independent and do something for myself. I completed my training at the Shahi Skill Training Center at Wadi. I am currently working as a trailer in Karnataka after completing the training. I am very happy that I am able to do something for my family and also have some savings for myself. I would like to thank Shahi Skill training center and now that I am financially independent I can support my family and myself. Radha From :- Karnataka
