Most of the germans lived in the midwest or in Texas. The main religionswere protestants, catholics, and jewish, one third was catholic.

Tenement housing.Houses that barely meet the safety limit, sanitation, and comfort of a normalhome. These homes mostly had families who could not afford a stable home,mostly impoverished families lived here.
Problems due to urbanization There was poor housing, many diseases, working conditions were horrible and living conditions are also poor, there was also corruption in the government and the workers or workers in general
Political machines and party boss There was many political machines in both small and large forms but few were recognition. Most famous was William tweed for his Tammany hall project and boss keuf in San Fran. Machines are high during this era, it helps created many jobs for immigrants and pulled them from poverty.
