BIANCA BRISAN PORTFOLIO

Born in 1992 in Cluj-Napoca, where she lives and works, is achieving the Diploma inPainting at the University of Art and Design in Cluj-Napoca. The research for BiancaBrisan is developed around the concept of tension and trauma, defined as forces thatforce the man into behaviors imposed from the outside, of whom is necessary, throughthe practice of painting, being free. The cycles of works punctually analyze this tension,in the first instance by choosing a livid painting, by the dark colors, where the facesseem to stretch and deform oneself, through the clots and spots of matter. The lastphase of the research sees the artist to work on the concept of the womb, studying herpositions in wet and enveloping tissues, and let emerging the shapes of hands, feet,body parts that seek a way out, changing the original image. A painful birth butpossible, that becomes a metaphor of the soul and of the body liberated from theconventions, in the trauma of a new oneself reveal.
