Camp Good Days 2021 Online Wine & Spirits Auction Program

About Us In 1979, Elizabeth \"Teddi\" Mervis was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor at the age of nine. Her father, Gary Mervis, traveled across the country to major medical centers seeking the best possible treatment for his daughter. He returned home without the answers he had been looking for and realized that it was not the craniotomy, radiation therapy, or chemotherapy that was causing Teddi the most pain, but it was the loneliness of being the only child in her school and neighborhood dealing with cancer. With the help and support of many friends and community members in Greater Rochester, New York, Gary founded Camp Good Days and Special Times, Inc., a 501(c)3 not-for- profit organization, to provide Teddi and other children with cancer the opportunity to come together in a residential camping experience to be with the only ones who could truly understand what they vere going through -other children with cancer. Over the years, Camp Good Days has become one of the largest organizations of its kind with many of the programs and services started there being used as models for other cancer treatment centers and organizations around the world. Today, Camp Good Days remains dedicated to improving the quality of life for children and families whose lives have been touched by cancer and other life-threatening challenges through residential camping experiences held at their own beautiful Recreational Facility on Keuka Lake, as well as year- round, recreational and support activities and events held across Upstate New York in Rochester, Buffalo, Syracuse, and the Southern Tier Region, for families who are facing life's toughest challenges. So as not to place any additional financial burden on the families served, all the programs and services provided by Camp Good Days are offered free of charge for the participants. This is only possible because of the support and generosity of so many individuals, businesses, and organizations, and the success of special fundraising events held throughout the year.

Presented By: Auction Begins November 4, 2021 10:00 AM Auction Ends November 11, 2021 8:00 PM This year, we are reimagining our Annual Camp Good Days Wine Auction Dinner as an online auction to comply with COVID-19 restrictions and guidelines. The online auction will include medal winning wines and spirits from this year's Finger Lakes International Wine & Spirits Competition as well as a wide array of other exciting auction items! All auction items that can be shipped will be mailed via USPS within 2 weeks of the auction's closing. Items that require pick-up may be claimed from the Camp Good Days office starting November 15th, 2021 during regular business hours, Monday - Friday 9:00 am - 5:00 pm. Camp Good Days & Special Times, Inc. 1332 Pittsford-Mendon, Rd., Mendon NY 14506 For item pick up at our office, please schedule a time by calling 585-624-5555. Alcohol cannot be shipped but can be picked up at our office or delivered for free within a 30 mile radius of the office. For delivery greater than 30 miles but less than 60 miles, there will be a fee of $30. Additionally, to ensure all recipients are 21or older, an ID with birth date is required for all alcohol picked up or delivered.

A Message from Gary Mervis, Founder: Dear Friends: Welcome to the 21st Annual Camp Good Days Online Wine Auction! Due to COVID-19, we had to re-imagine our Annual Wine Auction Dinner as an online auction. This year’s Finger Lakes International Wine & Spirits Competition included significant changes to make sure that the health and safety of all involved was at the forefront and we were thrilled with the result; over 1,700 wines and spirits were entered! When I started Camp Good Days over 42 years ago to provide my daughter, Teddi, and 62 other children with cancer with a residential camping experience, I made a promise to all the families we would serve, that no family would be placed in the position of deciding between paying their bills on time and sending their loved one to Camp Good Days. Therefore, it remains today that all of the programs and services provided by Camp Good Days to so many children, adults, and families, are offered free of charge to the participants. We are only able to continue keeping that promise because of the generosity of so many, like I would like to extend thanks to Saxco International, UA Local 13, and News10NBC, our event sponsors, and the entire organizing committee who all work so hard throughout the year and go above and beyond in their support of the children and families of Camp Good Days. Please know that all of you are helping us to provide some good days and special times for some very special children and families whose lives have been touched by cancer and sickle cell anemia. The Teddi Projects Foundation The original Camp Good Days Foundation, now called the Teddi Projects Foundation, was established to develop charitable donations to support the programs and services of Camp Good Days and Special Time, and to develop the financial strength required to ensure that Camp Good Days will be here to meet the needs of children and families in the future. The concept for Camp Good Days and Special Times began to develop in 1979 when Teddi Mervis was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor. Her family was devastated. But, throughout the course of her treatment, her father Gary, developed a vision which would become her legacy; a camp for children cheated of their childhood by cancer or sickle cell anemia. Camp Good Days now has multiple children's camping programs including an international program where children with cancer from foreign countries can come to camp, a Brain Tumor Family Retreat, a Women's Oncology Program, and a Men's Prostate Cancer Retreat among many other events and programs that run throughout the year. Since its inception Camp Good Days has served as a model for other childhood cancer treatment centers and organizations throughout the United States, Canada, and the world. Camp Good Days and Special Times has never depended upon government funding and has been supported entirely by the generosity of private contributors and special events like the Online Wine Auction. This year's event will be the second event to specifically benefit this foundation. Please know that your generosity and support of this event and Camp Good Days will help to ensure Camp Good Days' longevity and its ability to keep helping those affected by cancer and sickle cell anemia for years to come.
