Designed by one of the UK’s prominent architects, AL_A, Central Embassy brings a distinguishing new silhouette in the city, one that opens out both to the street and the skyline, and extends an invitation to the people of Bangkok and the world beyond. The 1.5 million sq ft mixed-use project merges a seven storey luxury retail podium and a 27 storey five star Park Hyatt hotel tower into a cohesive, architectural entity. Central Embassy now provides a retail experience unlike any other in Thailand, and takes influence from major Western and Asian shopping malls. The development also included the construction of essential parking facilities and a cinema.

PROJECT PLANNING SERVICE PLC. 35 THREE PHASE REFURBISHMENT AND EXPANSION PROJECT TO ACCOMMODATE THE EXPECTED 15 MILLION PASSENGERS PER YEAR Marco Polo International Airport is a prestigious city gateway featuring innovative materials and a premium retail offer. As well as leading the Venice Airport masterplan, One Works has also been commissioned to design the new passenger terminal refurbishment and extension to provide an extended capacity of 15 million passengers a year while. The completed passenger terminal was designed to provide a new forecourt, which will accommodate passengers arriving from all means of transport and is comprised of an 280-metre-long, fully glazed gallery. The sustainable approach has created a harmonious dialogue between the original airport buildings and the new extension. The next phases will see the construction of two new wings on both sides of the front terminal for other 100,000 m2.

The project aims at obtaining a more rational distribution of pedestrian flows, providing more comfort and ensuring public safety. The design respects many characteristics of complex intermodal buildings. Our work focuses primarily on the stations’ public areas, those places that will have a greater influence on the passengers’ travel experience. One Works is developing the architectural finishes design, which concerns the definition of the interior and exterior spatial character, aiming to meet Qatar Rail’s goal of offering services that meet the highest international standard.

Retail functions, strongly characterized in part by the fashion mall at the base of the Hadid tower, and the outdoor commercial activity distributed around the plaza and along the pathway towards Piazza VI Febbraio, permit the public square to open itself up to the city and the surrounding park. The public plaza’s configuration highlights three important aspects. Firstly, the plaza links the park’s southern and northern parts. Secondly, it establishes an East-West relationship, which correlates Piazza VI Febbraio with the fashion mall and park to the west. Finally, the central Tre Torre Plaza is an urban fulcrum and integral part to the pathway system described. DESIGN OF A NEW RETAIL PLAZA STRONGLY CHARACTERISED BY THE ACCOMPANYING TOWERS AND PART OF A WIDER ICONIC URBAN REDEVELOPMENT PROJECT IN MILAN. The commission included two different exercises: address the strategic retail planning approach for 40.000 sqm of GLA, and the new plaza design with high street shopping facing the public spaces. The double story plaza reveals itself at the two principle levels of the public domain, one being the towers’ ground floors and the other in correspondence to the hypogea level, acting as a junction between the park and the pedestrian axis Domodossola. The revision of the plaza’s layout stems from variations in its functional program, or rather of its spatial distribution, and the desire to create

44 Location: Cam Ranh, Vietnam Client: Traveloodge ARENA SKYE - Services: Interior Design TRAVELODGE TOWER INTERIOR DESIGN OF AN EXCITING NEW CONTEMPORARY URBAN HOTEL IN CAM RANH, ON THE BEAUTIFUL COAST OF VIETNAM. The project consists of 4,029 units across four towers, with public areas at ground floors and rooms comprising a mix of hotel rooms and condotel. The interiors have been designed with the target visitors in mind (primarily Chinese and Russian) to provide a high level of detail and a luxurious finish. The design offers a largely natural feeling with the use of timber and marble with a more sophisticated pattern and decoration. For the public areas, a different colour theme was used for each tower. First one we designed was blue, and to compensate for the large dark blue marble columns a mix of colours and accents were introduced to offer a contemporary, but cozy space. Particular attention was dedicated to the selection of furniture to accentuate the spaces.
