Since 2007, Music Matters has pioneered the independent festival scene in Asia, creating unparalleled business and cultural connections with the rest of the music world. “My vision is to bridge the gap between the emerging, dynamic markets & to of course develop a fan base in Asia. The territo- ry has always intrigued both myself and my management, Music Matters is the perfect platform to achieve this” Shares Zakes. MLINDO Talented vocalist, Mlindo is one name making waves in the music scene this year and we know exactly why. Apart from delivering 2 hot singles with the country’s most talented pro- ducers, he is scripting his own truth. The young vocalist has dropped the visuals for his much loved single, AmaBlesser, featuring DJ Maphorisa. AmaBlesse r is a song about losing the love of his life to his uncle, who is a blesser. A blesser is a slang term used to de- scribe rich men who gives money to a young and attractive woman in exchange for sex. The “blesser” phenomenon has been a hot topic in the country and with the rise of material- ism, most men are finding it difficult to compete. The single carries the same storyline as Bamthathile , a song he did with Sun-El Musician. Both these songs are very emotional and demonstrate exact- ly how Mlindo got his heart broken and his queen taken from him.
www.urbanfusionmagazine.com We break down Boity’s new single ‘Wuz Dat’ South Africa is alive with possibility, and Boity is proof. The multi-tal- ented media personality, can now add rapper to her list of titles. The presenter released her new single “Wuz Dat” featuring Nasty C on Metro FM Thursday morning. We listened to all 3:40 minutes of the song, and we have a few thoughts about the track Let’s start with the good, shall we. Firstly, the beat is fire. It’s a bob your head in traffic, change your bad mood, beat. Not straying far from her SA hip-hop predecessors, Boity uses a beat heavily influenced by American trap. Then there’s the quotable lines. The new rapper spits some really tweet worthy lines like “Black woman, white man money, getting back the land.” and my personal favourite: “Ausi, it was brought to my atten- tion that you ain’t sh*t”. Now for the not so good. I could barely hear what Boity was saying most of the time. From the mumble rap to the beat, Wuz Dat sounds like a song that we have all heard before and that’s okay, I guess. That is the conventions of her new found genre. While I might be on the fence on whether to stan for Boity the rapper, I can admit that there are a few more positives than negatives. Oh and there’s a Nasty C verse. My verdict, BoiTalented could have another lu- crative income stream. Don’t trust my judgement? Here’s a few takes from the Twitter critics Drake is upset about a lot of things on his new album, Scorpion, but commercial performance isn’t one of them: The album obliterated first-day streaming records on Spotify and Apple Music and is on its way to logging the best streaming week of all time.Scorpion earned 170 million Apple Music streams in its first day of release, Rolling Stone reports. That’s almost double the 89.9 millionfirst-day streams Drake logged with his 2017 “playlist” More Life, the platform’s former record-holder. His new, 25-track double album also accumulated more than 132 million Spotify streams worldwide in its 24 hours, handily usurping Post Malone’s Beerbongs & Bentleys, which previously set the record in April with 78.7 million first-day streams. Drake also smashed Post’s stateside record, accumulating 80.5 million Scorpion streams versus Beerbongs & Bentleys’ 47.9 mil- lion streams. HANGING OUT WITH Mahlora Chokwe “Its Good to be Different” Age 27 Lives in Pretoria Mahlora is one spontaneous young woman who grew up in the streets of soshanguve. She is a sister of 4 siblings whom always think of her as their hero. Growing up Mahlora was like an ob- server than a contender from her child- hood however her mind was busy in most cases. She looked up to the great icons u can name in South Africa and abroad who lived their lives making a difference in other peoples lives. It was never easy growing up as her par- ents couldn’t afford better things for but what she’s grateful for is the fact that they taught us that God comes first be- fore their situations and joy. With God we survived in those harsh experiences in which in peoples eyes they were not visible. The question people asked about her and modelling was a question she was expecting because they never thought she could possibly go for it. Mahlora did drama, charity work, poet- ry and a bit of dancing there and there. today when it comes to modelling peo- ple become surprised. 10
HANGING OUT WITH To her modelling is not about owning a beautiful body with nice legs and pret- ty face. She want to show how possible for a person to believe. She went there to remove circumstance blinding black young woman from townships about their background. In 2016 she had an organisation of in- spiring and motivating young woman until it faded because of the unexpected event that forced her to stop. Mahlora saw a post on Facebook about miss ea- gle south Africa 2018. She told herself that she’s going to en- ter and be the voice of young oppressed woman and voice of the voiceless. In life everything happens for a reason. She remember in primary she was bul- lied and I did nothing until she lost confidence in herself. Hence today she want the Lord to use her to change peo- ples lives, with an event occurred to her long time ago she want to speak and make a difference. Mahlora Chokwe is in the semi finals now and she’s hoping that she make change in a young persons life for them to believe in themselves. Mahlora is surrounded by all socials ills u could name and that is one other reason she saw modelling as a key to unlock doors of officials and get people to unite and fight against them. 11

Question: Apostle Khado: My name is Johannes Selepe and I currently stay in limpopo. Apostle, i think i have a serious spiritual problem that has been troubling me a lot. In 2010 i broke up with the mother of my kid because i discovered that she was having an affair with a married man. When we broke up she told me that I will never ever get into a stable relationship. She said I will move from one relationship to the other and whoever i get into a relationship with will loose interest of me within few months. The words of the mother of my kid seem to be true as i have never lasted in any relationship after breaking up with her. I tried to search for an- swers from both religious and non religious places and most of them tell me that i have a black cloud following me in a form of a spell. This problem is really bothering me a lot and destroying my self confidence when it comes to relationships. What can I do to free myself from this spell? Answer: Mr Johannes, thank you for your openness and braveness to come out and share your private battles on a public platform. Firstly, a human being is both a physical and spiritual being ruled by spiritual principles. This spiritual principles affect human beings in a pos- itive or a negative way. Love is one of the positive principles that brings spiritual blessings, harmony, peace, prosperity and other positive bless- ings in a relationship. Once love is betrayed it vanishes and in the absence of love there is darkness, hostility, animosity, jealousy and strive. Once some of the above things emerge, lovers can turn into enemies . In your case , this negative bad wishes from the mother of your kid are what is affecting you in other relationships. The only way to break free from this bad wishes is the spirit of Love and Forgiveness from your side . You have to find it in your heart to forgive her and allow love to rule in your life. Wish her only what is good. When love and forgiveness rule in your heart, you will conquer this problem. Whatever your ex have said to you will not manifest because words are a seed that needs soil to germinate and when your heart is filled with love and forgiveness no evil spell or bad wishes can work on you. No weapon formed against you can conquer if the spirit of God which is love reigns in you. Do not allow fear of this problem to control your life. God who is love has given us the spirit of love and of a sound mind. Walk into that spirit of love and forgiveness and set yourself free. You will conquer this. If you have any spiritual questions, please write to us now There is a full teaching on that topic titled: THE DANGER OF ONE ON ONE CONSULTATION WITH THE PROPHET. I will make sure you get one copy. MUSIC FIFI IS BACK From the first lady to boss lady, it’s now time for the release of the rapper and singer’s sophomore album: Fifi Cooper is back with a brand new album titled “Take Me Back”. This is one of the most anticipated albums of 2018 and is the first project from her record label, MoCooper Records. The Motswako rapper did not hold back at all this time with her breath-taking & versatile flows that are backed-up by melodic beats. The 21 track album includes singles like “Calling” Ft Moozlie and “Emoyeni” Ft Thabsie just to name but a few. The buzzing hit single “Zwagala”, which is the first featured single, is already creating a craze on the radio airwaves and is being touted as THE street anthem. When asked why the album was titled ‘’Take me back”, this is what she had to say: “I named it Take Me Back because in it, I am going back to my roots of Motswako. I did different things in the past because I was not in control of my creativity but now that I am my own boss, I will stick to what I know best.” 27

FOOD AND WINES This start-up is delivering mogodu and chicken feet takeaways to Pretoria’s northern suburbs Masego Motla , Business Insider SA May 27 Traditional African meals are hearty and delicious, but can also take forever to prepare. For many in the suburbs, the only time they get to savour these delicacies is during big family gatherings. A newly launched start-up, Roar Foodies, is now aiming to make traditional meals a daily staple of Joburg’s northeners. Masego and Khalo have been friends since primary school. Masego is a caterer and owner of Maky Creaxions, while Khalo is in recruitment. After noticing a strong demand for traditional food, they decided to launch Roar Foodies in June. The meals start at R220 for a family of four and they deliver themselves. Roar Foodies is based in Winterveldt and delivers to Soshanguve, Mabopane, Town and surrounding areas. Deliveries to Pretoria and surrounding areas come at a small fee, while orders in Mabopane and Wintervelt are free. The most popular meals ordered are mogodu (tripe), “hard body” chicken and dumplings. They also offer “skop” (sheep’s head), chicken feet, manqina (cow heels) and vetkoek with mince. “It all started by word of mouth, and it continues to grow by word of mouth,” says Masego. “We customise our meals according to what our clients want and if they want braai meat, we provide that for them.” The meals are cooked fresh daily and delivered while hot. They hope to continue growing by customising their meals for the various seasons. Contact number: 082 987 6654
The Huawei P20 Lite could be the best-selling smartphone in South Africa Huawei recently launched its P20 smartphone lineup in South Africa, which includes the P20, P20 Pro, and P20 Lite. The P20 and P20 Pro boast flagship-grade specifications and are aimed at the high-end smartphone market, while the P20 Lite is a mid-range device which offers modern features at an attractive price. Huawei’s P20 Lite retains the notched FullView display of its flagship siblings and sports a dual-lens camera – along with support for face unlock biometric security. Huawei South Africa Marketing Director Akhram Mohamed told MyBroadband that its previous Lite smartphones have seen impressive sales in South Africa, and dominate the mid-range market. “The Lite series has always done well in South Africa,” said Mohamed. “We have very high volumes in the mid-range segment and have completely taken over that market with our products.” Mohamed said the mid-range market is much bigger than the flagship smartphone market in South Africa, and that the P10 Lite was one of the most popular devices in South Africa last year. “The Huawei P10 Lite was not the most successful smartphone overall, but it was the most popular device in the postpaid segment,” he said. “One of our biggest considerations is whether we can meet the massive demand for these devices in South Africa.” The company has sold so many smartphones in South Africa that it is building a dedicated warehouse to meet local demand, he added. The warehouse will be the first dedicated Huawei product distribution centre built outside of China. Following the success of the P10 Lite, Mohamed is confident the P20 Lite will perform exceptionally in South Africa. Pre-orders for the Huawei P20 Lite showed a great interest in the device from local consumers, and Huawei has managed to ship higher volumes of its smartphones thanks to improved operator confidence. “I think the P20 Lite will really dominate in South Africa,” said Mohamed. The price of the P20 Lite is R5,999, however – R1,000 higher than that of the P10 Lite launch price. Mohamed said customers would not be deterred by the small price increase, though

Tanzania is home to some of Africa’s most fa- mous national parks and the majestic Mount Kilimanjaro rising above the Serengeti. Most visitors will find themselves passing through Dar es Salaam and heading out on safaris and various wildlife viewing adventures. For those who want to take a break and spend some time soaking up the sun, the beautiful beach- es of Zanzibar beckon. Off Pemba and Mafia islands is a whole other kind of natural wonder, one most appreciated by the scuba divers and snorkelers who come here from around the world to experience the coral gardens, colorful fish, and crystal clear waters. Tanzania borders Kenya and Uganda to the north; Rwanda, Burundi, and the Democrat- ic Republic of the Congo to the west; Zam- bia, Malawi, and Mozambique to the south; and the Indian Ocean to the east. Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa’s highest mountain, is in north-eastern Tanzania
PROKID Linda Mkhize (aka ‘Pro formerly known as ProKid) born 25 June 1981, is a Hip Hop artist from Soweto, South Africa. He was signed to Gallo Record Company after his independent- ly released track ‘Soweto’ became popular. His popularity is largely because he proudly represents South African ‘Kasi’ (Township) life, rapping in a mixture of vernacular and En- glish. He believes that rhyming should not be language based but what matters is the delivery, how one can share what they want to share with the people. “For me rhyming goes beyond choosing a language I feel comfortable with. There are things you can loose when using vernacular yet there are things that sound right when using African languag- es”. Pro has his own unique voice and persona. He also says that the way each artist defines themselves, makes their rhym- ing different. It is because of this influence that Pro does not have a formal, strategic way of writing lyrics. Pro used to front for Soweto rap group, Saudi Westerns, but has now taken to showcasing new talent on his releases and live performances. “Its great to work with kids who have the same hunger I had, and still possess. Like minded people al- ways work hard at reaching a common goal” Pro has worked with various producers and rappers like, Dplanet, Amu, Nyambz, Omen and Draztik, Dome. Please note that there is a young boy 4rm Kwamashu N sec- tion who says that prokid is more talented than other rappers in south africa In 2007 Pro travelled to the Netherlands to record with that countries much loved group, Tripple & Touch, an experience he cherished, as he got to perform at various clubs around Amsterdam and got to share the stage with the likes of P. Did- dy. His entertaining and captivating live performances have af- forded him the opportunity to be an opening act for HipHop international giants like Busta Rhymes and 50 Cent. In 2006 he co-presented SABC1’s dance show, Jika Ma Jika. REST IN PEACE SOLDIER
