Spelling Bee contest, conducted in foreign countries more commonly, is a competition which aims to minimize spelling mistakes as well as teaching the words spelling letter by letter, to teach using the time correctly, and to minimize the pronunciation mistakes while expanding the vocabulary knowledge. We would like to congratulate all our students who participated in our competition, in which the main purpose was to gain self-confidence. Cihangir School has started off with an enormous task at hand by offering competitive sports package to its students. The school has variety of sports disciplines on offer to cater all abilities, requirements, necessary equipment and training grounds. Lift access on all floors of the campus allows wheelchair users and other pupil with disabilities to use the available equipment and halls. On the campus, pupil can make use of the indoor basketball court, volleyball pitch, attend karate classes, spend their precious free times in the chess room and also learn how to play tennis whether indoors or outdoors. The campus is not only limited with the halls, rooms and the equipment but has numerous experienced educators and field specific coaches. Students constantly compete at regional competitions, regularly paying visit to neutral grounds to test their mettle against stronger competitors. Even though Cihangir is a new school with new pupil, the athletes are determined enough to train hard to represent their school at any stage. They may have not won any major tournaments, but have started to show themselves and get their names heard, especially in chess competitions. Cihangir students great start! Kaan HAMURCU, ninth grade student from Cihangir has managed to come third at national chess competition, which was held in Kayseri this year. The chess competition was held between 24th and 27th December 2021, which the competitors age varied. Hamurcu, who has come third regionally has promised to work harder, claiming that, this is just the beginning and he’s willing to compete not just nationally, but on international stage. Also, Fatma Zümra ŞAHİN (pictured above), has won the chess competition at her age group.
