Sustainable Formation of Savings Groups (SFSG) Who are the Participants?1 Master Trainer (MT) and a maximum of 2 to 3 Savings Group Trainers (SGT) per session. What are the Objectives?Equip SGTs to form Savings Group functioning in a transparent and autonomous manner and to register them to the web dataplatform using The Company Trainer App. When does Training take place?Anytime there are new SGTs. At dates and times agreed upon between MTs and SGTs as per the following schedule:Days Duration Sessions Job-aid TopicsDay 1 3 hours Session 1: Video 1: Formation and naming Video 2: Leadership Roles and Weekly Savings Rate Video 3: Fines and Helpers; 1st savings meetingDay 2 3 hours Session 2: Video 4: Loan duration and fees Video 5: Fine for loan lateness Video 6: Loan evaluation and 1st loansDay 3 2 hours Session 3: Video 7: Share-out date setting Video 8: Check-up and 2nd loansDay 4 2 hours Session 4: Video 9: Distribution of funds Master Trainer’s Guide Video 10: Opening the second cycleSessions 1, 2 and 3 should be at least one day apart. Ideally, for immediacy sake, session 4 would happen a week prior to the firstdistribution meeting of a Trainer. But it is important for SGTs to understand the entire process before they start forming SavingsGroups. Hence, when possible, it is recommended to have a refresher session prior to the first distribution meeting to ensure thatSGTs grasp the distribution meeting procedures. 3
