ACT-7 is soap not a solvent! Rather than dissolving the resins, ACT-7 simply washes uncured resins from tools, brushes, rollers, moulds etc. The ACT-7 concentrate is mixed with 95% water so it acts more or less like dishwashing soap. When dishwashing by hand you need warm water, soap and a brush to achieve good results. The same counts for ACT-7. The cleaning device needs to have a large surface and a certain depth, allowing a fast ex-change of cleaner and allowing the waste resin particles to sink down to the bottom and stay there. The ideal temperature for the removal of resins is about 40 degrees Celsius (110 degrees Fahr- enheit). Another important aspect is active cleaning, such as using a scrub or brush. In the ACT-7 (Aqueous Cleaning Technology) cleaning process the resins, which are removed, will disperse and sink to the bottom. The dispersed resin can be removed and if dried, can be disposed of as ordinary waste. The cleaner can be reused and kept active by occasionally adding ACT-7 concentrate. ACT-7 3

Fillers in the resin will determine the roller type. As fillers make air difficult to remove and they also make wet-out slower. Slotted Paddle Roller is recommended as V-slots releases entrapped air. What is the Viscosity of resin? High viscos resin will allow less air to enter but at the same time wet through would be harder. And it would be harder to get the air out even though it is lesser. Low viscosity resins will have more air pockets and can allow air re-impregnation if roller style is not appropriate. Finned rollers have fine and deep teeth like grooves which help release air easily if viscosity is less. Whereas Slotted Paddle rollers are effective where viscosity of resin is high. What is the thickness of the fabric? Heavier reinforcements restrict the usage of smaller diameter rollers as it requires more lateral force to wet-out. Thinner or lighter reinforcements have smaller but numerous air bubbles. Thinner reinforcement requires smaller rollers. Wet out properties also affect the roller choice.
