Marta Guerra Doblas | Academic Experience Officer During my time as an student at Middlesex University I have been able to witness the potential of the MDX courses and students and I have also been able to witness the gaps and deficiencies in curriculums, departments' organisation and communications and overall learning experience. I believe MDX is a great institution but there are certain areas that need to improve and students keep recognising and requesting these improvements. My aim in this role is to represent the voices of those who want to make the most out of their studies, of those who do not feel like they are being given enough by our chosen academic institutions, of those who have ideas and are willing to make changes, of those who feel underrepresented in their learning environment. During my time at Middlesex University I have worked in many different roles and departments, including Student Voice Leader, which have provided me with a broader undertanding of the institution, UK Higher Education system and student perspective. As an Academic Experience Officer I plan to: • Provide student representatives with appropiate training and support to promote real changes on their learning experiences • Plan, assist and deliver the projects and campaigns arised from students' claims and action plans • Make sure educational curriculums around MDX meet inclusivity, representation and diversity requirements in order to create an space of acceptance among the learning community alongside other student officers When I have fought for change at my own course before, I have felt alone and intimidated by claiming what me and my peers deserved out of our education. If I become an Academic Experience Officer, my priority will be to make sure no student feels that way. I will be present, responsive, active and supportive of all students. Change can be scary but it is necessary for progress, we need to make it happen all together! As students, we deserve an optimised learning experience that recognises and celebrates our individuality, that support our progress and skills development and that promotes our value as young professionals. Use you voice, join the change!

Reycelie Angel Macadangdang | Academic Experience Officer Hi, I am Angel; I am running for the position of Academic Experience Officer. I am passionate about improving the lives of others, which inspired me to apply for this position. Becoming an Academic Officer of the Students' Union is my most rewarding and exciting opportunity. I am a full-time student in BSc Biomedical Science. My educational journey at Middlesex University would enable me to empathize with students' problems, including academic, financial, etc., to find the most efficient solution for them. People with a strong passion for their job and relevant skills will represent themselves well. Therefore, by combining my passion and leadership skills with my academic and technical background and characteristics, such as perseverance, commitment, and granular attitude, I could effectively lead the students' issues and help their voices be heard and addressed to the university board. By running the relevant campaigns and addressing students' problems to the university board, it is incredible to be the voice of students. Managing efficient campaigns for students could involve addressing a specific issue concerning their financial or educational challenges; course representatives can raise these issues. As a result of this year's excellent student survey, some key student issues have been identified. In some cases, students were unable to extend the deadline of their assignments because of poor mental health. To address this problem, I can run a campaign to speed up students' access to mental health services as soon as possible. This way, students can provide the evidence required to extend their assignments. It is beneficial to conduct some campaigns to raise funding for accessible mental health courses for students within the educational journey because mental health is so important. Furthermore, one of the ideas to improve students' lives can be creating inspirational, educational videos on the MDXSU platforms like Instagram; this can inspire many students to achieve their objectives and boost their mental health. I hope you will vote for me. I will do my best. Thank you for your time.
Rushil Shah | Academic Experience Officer I believe in bringing the change and making the students journey more eventful. It will be an opening opportunity and honor for me to represent students of Middlesex. Yours truly, Rushil Shah
