DR. ROONGTIP PROMSIRI O School Director ne of the fundamental conditions for the development and success of every nation is education. All academic institutions regularly launch new, innovative projects as a result, enabling them to move forward with assurance in fulfilling their visions, missions, and goals. Due to this, Chonradsadornumrung School continuously modifies, adapts and creates new programs in order to assist students succeed in a globalized society. As a result, I developed and implemented the CRU-SMART Model which aims to address most of the issues brought on by the present and forthcoming concerns. This model has many different components meant to make our students critical thinkers, good citizens, and well-prepared for the future. It is based on understanding, responsibility, morals, teamwork, uniqueness, and much more. As educators, our job is to give our students the tools to apply these components effectively in the real world – the best way to do this is to start in the classroom with strategically planned lessons. Fortunately, our EP department supports this model through their specialized projects and activities that challenge students to work with each other and grow together. Teachers in EP are determined to instill CRU Smart Model values by creating lessons with active learning strategies. In addition, our teachers focus heavily on student participation, morale, and accuracy to achieve the highest learning results. The purpose of the CRU Smart Model is to advance our students skills and knowledge in this digital and multi-lingual world. We are sure that our students have the ability to enlighten the world like they enlighten our classrooms. The CRU-SMART Model demonstrates that, even in the face of seemingly insurmountable obstacles, our noble mission of providing high-quality education can be achieved if all educators and stakeholders—including parents, teachers, administrators, public officials, board members, and the community—will work toward the same goals. With a number of its excellent academic and extracurricular initiatives, particularly the English Program, CRU will always be a pillar in preparing the next generation to thrive, be fulfilled, and act responsibly as citizens in a globalized society that is very competitive.

EDWARD M3 and M6 Basic English In Basic English we cover all aspects of English, so it is important to keep things fresh and interesting; this keeps students on their toes and tests all areas of their language skills. For example, students may work on their own, in groups, play games, take notes, and give presentations etc. One of my preferred techniques to review target language is to use ‘Blooket’ where students compete in games against each other while answering multiple choice questions. It always brings a sense of anticipation and excitement! M5 Dynamic English: Public Speaking In small groups, M5 students have worked on a Campaign Speech: M5/1 for PM of Thailand and M5/2 for Mayor of Chonburi. The aim is to persuade the other groups to vote for them by delivering entertaining speeches, with appealing policies, one of which must relate to the environment. We added an element of fun by encouraging the groups to ‘attack’ each other in their speeches; explaining to the audience why they should not vote for other groups and choose them instead! M1/2 Functional English Once a week with M1/2 we have been doing silent reading to give the boys a break from their phones and tablets, while also encouraging them to see that reading can be fun. They can bring a book from home or borrow one from the library. The benefits of reading are endless. Silent reading in class can help the students to improve their concentration levels, their ability to focus, and it can also provide some peace in an often loud environment. Also, it is widely accepted that reading for fun is one of the fastest ways to improve your understanding of a foreign language. So, keep on reading everyone!!

Biochemical Properties and Biological Activities of Bird’s Cherry (Muntingia calabura), Fragrant Flower Artabotrys siamensis), and Golden Shower Tree (Cassia fistula) Ethanolic Leaf Extracts Researchers: Pasawee Kantawang, Peeranut Chansuras and Suphanan Kamondech Teacher: Marvin E. Servallos ABSTRACT Discovering the biochemical properties and synergistic biological activities of the experimental plants such as Bird’s Cherry (Muntingia calabura), Fragrant Flower (Artabotrys sia- mensis), and Golden Shower Tree (Cassia fistula), is the main purpose of the current research. Specifically, it aimed to assess the agglutinating, allelopathic, antibacterial, antifungal activities, and biochemical properties of the plants. The leaves of the experimental plants were collected and soaked in ethanol for 24 hours. The individual and combined ethanol- ic extracts were used for various biochemical and biological testing. Agglutinating test was done to evaluate the capacity of the plants to cause blood agglutination in various blood types. Allelopathic assay was also conducted to determine the capacity of the plants to inhibit the growth of other plants. Moreover, antibacterial and antifungal screening were done using bacterial and fungal isolates such as Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, Bacillus subtilis, Saccharomyces cerevisiae, and Rhizopus nigricans to prove the potency of the extracts as antimicrobial agents. Biochemical properties of the plants were also evaluated using the standard phyto- chemical protocol. Through a series of experiments, it was discovered that the individual and combined extracts of the plants possessed allelopathic, agglutinating, antibacterial, an- tifungal, and diverse biochemical properties like alkaloids, saponins, tannins, phenolic compounds, and flavonoids. Thus, the researchers concluded that the plants employed in this research have variety of biochemical properties and bio- logical activities. Furthermore, the researchers recommended that more research should be done to evaluate the other bio- logical activities of the plants like their anti-inflammatory and anti-diarrheal properties.
