About the TrainersWhen and Where LEARN PRACTISE Dr Zhao Yi Zhi is a Principal Research Engineer from SIMTech with a PhD in Computer & IMPLEMENT™ Engineering. With more than 20 years of industrial R&D experience, he helped to develop a software system that won the IES Prestigious Engineering Achievement Award and successfully licensed several other systems to local companies, including the Shopfloor Tracking System (SFTS) and Energy Efficiency Monitoring and Analysis System (E²MAS). He has published over 30 journal and conference papers. His current research focuses include multi-objective optimisation for prioritization and dispatching, energy-aware execution control for energy-efficient manufacturing, and energy efficiency analysis and management systems. Dr Zhao is an IEEE member. Dr Kiew Choon Meng is an Assistant Professor with SIT since 2018. At SIT, he focuses on Embedded Systems and Internet of Things (IoT) related curriculums, where his students learn about using micro-controllers as one of the key elements in IoT solution. He also has three years of industrial experience as an IoT consultant before joining SIT, helping local companies to convert their IoT dreams into realities. He also has ten years of experience in the R&D environment where he led a team in Industrial Automation. He loves to share his experiences and knowledge to anyone who wish to know more about IoT and who like to develop their own IoT solution. Ms Tan Yee Shee is a Senior Research Engineer with SIMTech’s Sustainability and Lifecycle Engineering Group. She holds a Master degree in Environmental Engineering, specialising in environmental systems engineering, from the National Cheng Kung University of Taiwan and currently completing her PhD studies at the National University of Singapore’s Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering. Yee Shee has vast experience in sustainability assessment, and primarily in life cycle assessment, energy and water analysis. She leads in the development of SIMTech’s Smart Energy Management System and works with several manufacturing companies for their energy efficiency improvement. Her current research area is on water-energy nexus modelling and optimisation.
