This helps to reduce cost and helps organizations to be more efficient and competitive. It is also an important foundation for Industry 4.0 by streamlining operations and ensuring only value-added activities are digitized or automated. LEAN can be applied to all corners of the enterprise by every employee and for all industries. It helps to build continuous improvement culture and to break down silo within the organisation. It can also allow for coordinated effort by management to drive improvement to help meet overall organisational objectives. Lean helps companies to increase value-add to customers, while eliminating wastes and minimising costs. What You Will Learn The programme engages the Learn-Practise-Implement (LPI) model, through which fundamental knowledge and principles taught will be reinforced in practice, as well as during the implementation process using real business scenario and data. It covers: • Introduction to LEAN and Principles • Wastes identification and value stream mapping • KAIZEN and continuous improvement approach • LEAN Tools including relevant basic Industry 4.0 tools • LEAN Sustainability Upon Completion of this Course Participants are awarded with SIMTech’s certificates of attendance for their participation. About the Course Leaders Ms Laura Xu, Principal Research Engineer at SIMTech, is the Lead for the Lean Manufacturing Initiative. Through this Lean Implementation Programme, and together with her team, she has helped more than 50 local companies achieve waste reduction and productivity improvements. She has been working in the Lean arena for more than 15 years and has certifications in Lean Sigma Black Belt, Production & Inventory Management (CPIM) and Project Management Professional (PMP). She obtained her Masters in Engineering from the Nanyang Technological University, Singapore and a Masters in Economy Management from the Tsinghua University. Mr Lek Liat Boon is a Consultant with SIMTech’s Manufacturing Productivity Technology Centre (MPTC). He has over 17 years of experience in Production, Procurement, Test & Quality Engineering and Management within the Manufacturing sector. His key capability/skills are contract manufacturer management and process improvement/optimization. Other areas of experience are in Visual Management, 6S Implementation and Value Stream Mapping. He has a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering. Mr Joseph Ng is a Senior Consultant with SIMTech’s Manufacturing Productivity Technology Centre (MPTC). He has more than 25 years of experience in management systems in wide-ranging industries. He has held a wide ranging of roles with companies including management roles with SGS in Asia and has implemented lean in company such as Chevron Australia. Mr Ng has provided consultancy, training and auditing for over 500 companies in more than 10 countries such as Singapore, China and Australia. He holds a Mechanical Engineering degree from the University of Strathclyde, UK and a Master of Engineering from the Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, and a Master of Science from the National University of Singapore. Course Fee and Funding • The full course fee for this module is S$1,600 before SkillsFuture funding & GST. • All Singaporeans and Permanent Residents aged 21 years and above can enjoy SkillsFuture funding of up to 70% of the course fee. • Singaporean or Permanent Resident employees fully sponsored by SMEs can enjoy SkillsFuture funding support of up to 90% of the course fee under the Enhanced Training Support for Small & Medium Enterprises (SMEs) scheme, subject to eligibility criteria. • Singaporeans aged 40 years and above can enjoy SkillsFuture funding of up to 90% of the course fee under the Mid-career Enhanced Subsidy (MCES). • Singaporeans aged 25 years old and above are eligible for SkillsFuture Credit which can be used to offset course fees (for self-sponsored registrations only).
