Understand the Microfluidics Manufacturing Processes (45 hours) Skills Course Reference Number: CRS-Q-0033826-PRE Microfluidics is a multi-disciplinary field intersecting engineering, physics, chemistry, biochemistry, nanotechnology, and biotechnology, which is creating rapid growing markets worldwide in many areas such as clinical and personal diagnosis, drug screening, water and environment monitoring, food safety, and life science research. For this course, the participants will learn about the basic concepts of microfluidics technology, and the fundamentals of the device manufacturing. The participants will gain knowledge and skills on two major techniques for fabricating polymer microfluidic devices, which are plastic injection molding and joining. The course is conducted in an interactive way with case studies and hands-on experiments. Why This Course • Special curriculum highlighting the knowledge about design and manufacturing of polymer based microfluidic devices • Highly practical and intensive • Latest knowledge and up-to-date technology • Case studies extracted from practical demands • Expert trainers with comprehensive knowledge in the field and training experience Who Should Attend This course is designed for product engineers, process engineers and project managers from companies which relate to microfluidic device design and manufacturing, especially in the medical technology and precision engineering industry. It also targets to engineers and managers who are seeking skill improvement and knowledge enhancement in microfluidic design and manufacturing, plastic injection moulding and joining processes. Upon Completion of this Course Electronic certificates (e-Certs) will be issued by SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG) to participants who have attended and attained competency in the Singapore Skills Framework training modules. When & Where Please visit our website at KTO.SIMTech.a-star.edu.sg for the course schedule. Training Venue: Singapore Institute of Manufacturing Technology 2 Fusionopolis Way, Innovis, Level 8, Singapore 138634
