STRIVE… FOR EXCELLENCE D.A.V PUBLIC SCHOOL, SAHIBABAD E-MAGAZINE LOWER MIDDLE WING (5&6)
The world is for sure experiencing a Pandemic. Within weeks, despite all efforts, the coronavirus has encircled the globe. Through this difficult times I want my parents to know that I love my students like my own children and this separation is painful. I am thinking of them and missing them daily. The memories of their smiles, stories, and antics bring me joy in rough times. “I miss the opportunity to be with you and learn together but while we are apart, learn with your family. Teachers everywhere want students to know that they haven’t gone anywhere. They are merely waiting in the wings until it’s safe enough to be back in the classroom. Students are our purpose, so we feel a little lost without them. “I’m here for them. This too shall pass. And we will pick up right where we left off!!!”
“Focus on the journey, not the destination. Joy is found not in finishing an activity, but in doing it.” Ms. MANJIT MALIK Incharge (Lower Middle Wing) Learning at our school is based on the fundamental principles of life; teaching the children to be courageous, confident, disciplined, responsible and loyal. We try to provide the best possible environment for healthy development of young children by providing a carefully planned and structured environment in which the child grows and learns in a natural way. I also take this opportunity to thank the parents of our students for having bestowed their faith and confidence in us. Your faith in us is our driving force. I would like to end with the words of Albert Einstein – “Imagination is more important than knowledge, for while knowledge defines all that we currently know and understand, imagination points to all we might yet discover and create.” Looking forward to soon meet the precious gems of my wing.

Adventure Camp DATE: Friday, 13 December 2019 Any form of play forms an integral part of a child’s routine, be it indoors with dolls and blocks or outdoors with balls, nets and track. However, some form of play may not be a routine but generates thrill and excitement among children of all age groups, and these are ‘Adventure Sports’. Adventure sports are not only fun but also help inculcate several skills in children like enhancing gross and fine motor coordination; team spirit, risk taking and collaboration. Young DAVians were provided with one such exposure during a Day Adventure Camp in the school. Students of class V participated in around 10-12 activities. The camp was organized in association with “Satyam Pvt. Ltd”, India’s premiere Adventure Training Company. The camp commenced with the students being briefed about the precautions to be taken during the camp and were then divided into smaller groups with an instructor and teachers. The participants were exposed to various adventure activities like – the Swinging Bridge, Hippity Hop Race, Laser Beam, Commando Crawl, Hop Scotch, Hamster Wheel, Commando Net, Wall Climbing, Tent Pitching and other energizing games. The amount of energy and enthusiasm exhibited by students was enthralling. Overall it was a joyful and enriching experience.
