ASEAN University Network (AUN)–Quality Assurance (QA) Training Course was held on February 14-17, 2017 at the Novotel Bangkok, Thailand with Dr. Esmenia R. Javier, Dr. Cecilia C. Pring, Dr. Conrado I. Dotong and Dr. Jake M. Laguador as representatives of LPU-Batangas together with the 32 participants from Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia and Philippines. It aims to provide deeper understanding and application of Outcomes-Based Education among Higher Education Institutions in preparation for program level assessment in 2018. AUN is a premier group of leading universities in the ASEAN region which aims to strengthen and expand cooperation in higher education. It was established in 1995 and there are 26 universities that served as its current members. The AUN framework is aligned with the Malcolm Baldrige of America, European Standards and Guidelines (ESG) and Australian Quality Assurance Framework (AQAF) to complement its assessment process along with the leading global QA practices. Mr. Johnson Ong Chee Bin is an AUN-QA Expert and Chief Happiness Coach who served as one of the training facilitators together with Dr. Tan Kay Chuan, Chief Quality Officer, Lead Trainer and Assessor to AUN-QA from National University of Singapore. They used experiential learning approach to deeply appreciate and achieve the expected outcomes of the four-day training course. With this, 12 LPU-B aims to become one of the AUN members in the soonest possible time as an output of this academic undertaking. (JMLaguador)

The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority Region IV-A has staged the Regional Skills Competition 2019 last April 8-12, 2019. This was participated by various universities, colleges and Tech-Voc institutions from the provinces of Cavite, Laguna, Rizal, Quezon and Batangas. Lyceum of the Philippines University-Batangas participated in 6 trade areas and bagged 4 Gold medals in Restaurant Service, Information Network Cabling, IT Network Business Administration and Web Design and Development and 2 silver medals in IT Software Solutions for Business and Cooking. LPU Batangas’ winnings contributed to the triumph of TESDA Batangas as it was hailed as three-peat Overall Champion in the Regional Skills competition having received a total of 7 Gold medals and 2 silver medals. The gold medalists will advance to the Zonal Skills competition to compete with the winners from eight regions of Luzon. LPU-Batangas participates in the 10th PSCAS National Convention The annual gathering of Customs Administration students all over the Philippines was held February 21- 22, 2019 at the Hotel Kimberly in Tagaytay City. This marks the 10th National Convention of the Philippine Society of Customs Administration Students (PSCAS) Twenty-eight (28) students from the Lyceum of the Philippines University Batangas (LPU-B) chapter participated in the various contests Ms. Stefhanie Claire Baldivia was crowned as Miss PSCAS national while Dexter Buted Jr. was hailed as Top 7 Most Outstanding Customs Administration Student in the Philippines. In sports, Volleyball Men headed by Team Captain Joemel B. Doronila emerged as Champion, where the same was hailed as the Most Valuable Player. For the Chess Male Division, Sarbjit Singh Malhi placed first-runner up. Mr. John Paul D. Aquino, Top 3 Most Outstanding PSCAS President and Mr. Derick D. De Guzman was awarded as the Top 3 Most Outstanding PSCAS Adviser. The LPU-B Chapter was awarded as this year’s Top 3 Most Outstanding PSCAS Chapter, Top 3 in Community Extension and Top 4 Most Outstanding Chapter in Academic Excellence. 29

Lyceum of the Philippines University-Batangas (LPU-B) played as host to the 1st Association of Universities of Asia and Pacific (AUAP ) Inter-University Basketball Competition last April 2-8, 2017. The competition was participated in by the following universities: Sias University (China), University of Muhammadiyah (Indonesia), University of Tehran (Iran), Bulacan State University (Philippines), Isabela State University (Isabela) and the host University, LPU-B. Officials and coaches from the participating universities were present during the opening ceremonies held last April 4, 2017, at the LPU Maritime Training Center Poolside and LIMA Gym. Also present were the officials of AUAP: Dr. Ricardo Pama, Secretary General of AUAP and Ms. Supaporn Chuangchiel, Executive Secretary. (FRMedina) 34
