Lofty goals when we are so busy! But part of our goal in working with clients and our retail customers is to stay inspired and share our passion for design. This is where the name of this mini mag comes from and I well recall the days I spent brainstorming names sitting in my little east hill home post divorce trying to focus on something positive surrounded by the scary fall out of suddenly finding myself needing gainful employment- with two small girls. Even in my previous careers, details were always an obsession- but the right details. The tweaking and pondering that make a home come to life with soul, beauty and function. I will fight hard for what matters even when it does not make sense to a client or even my team. Yes we will argue or defend our design rationale- but only for the best outcomes- and this honesty and dedication is what people are buying when they hire In Detail. Some days our awesome team will roll up hill and punt- but we always pay attention to the details. NEW JERSEY PROJECT COLONIAL REVIVAL Layered textures and color bring new life into a home the entire family can enjoy! THE ULTIMATE LOGISTICS CHALLENGE! Logistics for what we do can be tricky even in our home town but delivering a new look to these fabulous clients was all done remotely until the time of the install! Phase 1 was installed last year and we delivered the rest of the design and furnishings in May of this year. Our ever talented Liz orchestrated pure brilliance in pulling off a long distance project even convincing our erstwhile window installer extraordinaire David to drive the truck of furnishings, art and accessories and stick around to be the third leg of our install team. Cannot say enough about the incredible job our entire team performed on the execution here. And the clients could not have been better. NEW JERSEY PROJECT Working with the existing kitchen, we created a cohesive story reflecting the owner's love of textures, lighting and brighter spaces but with an eye to keeping a certain level of casual sophistication. . PERFORMANCE FABRICS AND NATURAL MATERIALS BALANCE FUNCTION WITH STYLE Performance fabrics, leather and a wool rug made for family friendly materials in the reworked family room. Our own cabinetmaker built the custom entertainment center we designed- and their contractor installed it! Great teamwork and attentive clients helped pull all the elements together. Our goal was to freshen, brighten, and update this house so the clients no longer wanted to move. SUCCESS! 5/design & create

Our goal was to incorporate the existing piano and create a a sexy relaxation room for more cerebral pursuits! Being off the family room we wanted this room to help catch overflow when people are gathered as well. OhBefore so many things to love in this room! NEW JERSEY PROJECT Master Sweet Retreat! Tranquil soft colors create a soothing master suite but with just enough punches of saturated color to give a break to the eye and keep the space from being too boring, A fabulous grass cloth wall covering in the sitting room adds more texture and a good background for the original artwork sourced with this client in mind. The three etchings of trees over the fireplace were found in Florida and truly an amazing vintage purchase that fits so perfectly over the fireplace. We brought our \"A\" game for accessories, art and interesting objects- much of it vintage from our sources around the country. We always want vintage pieces in every project-the undeniable bit of soul they bring is evident here. 7 | design and create 11/design & create

The biggest challenge in the master, and really in the entire upstairs were the angled soffits. The window treatments were hung in caps to go from end to the other. Motorized Hunter Douglas will allow easy access. The super comfy reading chairs share an ottoman and both enjoy a fireplace view as well as NYC when there is no foilage! THE SITTING ROOM WILL NOW BE USED WITH MUCH MORE COMFORTABLE FURNITURE AND AMBIANCE. 12/design & create

Ben Moore Color Trends 2019 Color Trends Paint manufacturers have all jumped onto the Ben Moore is our go to paint line- but have to say this \"color of the year' projections in the past few years. year's color predictions are just too boring overall for Is there any rhyme or reason to any of it? No not really. It is educated people putting together overall us. And the COTY Metropolitan is our main societal lifestyle trends and trying to associate them showroom color- so ya- we love this soft gray but hellooo gray can be just as boring and off white- if you to their color palettes. do not pair it correctly! Our team does not do trends per se- we create design concepts based on telling the client's story and interpreting it into their home. But it is fun to look at who says what and why- some I agree with some i do not. Our color theory is predicated on our own set of criteria- my early background was heavy in art history and same for Liz so this informs our outlook. Really the magic of color in design is working with Sherwin Williams Color Forecast it like an artist does when creating their own work of art! And with this approach the contradiction in colors is what builds the most interesting stylistic points in a space. In our colorful world- we like to mix it up and add something unexpected even in neutral palettes- of course it has to work- but if you look at our color picks - they work across and up and down! 18/design & create
