Christmas is celebrated to remember the birth of Jesus Christ, who Christians believe is the Son of God. The name 'Christmas' comes from the Mass of Christ (or Jesus). The 'Christ-Mass' service was the only one that was allowed to take place after sunset (and before sun- rise the next day), so people had it at Midnight! So we get the name Christ-Mass, shortened to Christmas. Christmas is now celebrated by people around the world, whether they are Christians or not. It's a time when family and friends come together and remember the good things they have. People, and es- pecially children, also like Christmas as it's a time when you give and receive presents! Kindergarten celebrated Christmas along with the kids; the corri- dors were beautifully decorated along with the Christmas jingles playing in background. All the students came in colour dresses look- ing beautiful with happy faces. Some of them even dressed up as Santa Claus. We danced on jingle bells and sang Christmas songs children immensely enjoyed the day. Greeting card competition was held were students made lovely cards, and few of them made handprint cards which children took and gave it to Principal , Direc- tor and Vice Principal. They visited the class at the end of the day and greeted the tiny tots.
