The school closed on 30th Novemberafter the grand UAE national daycelebration and martyr’s day for a 3 dayleave and reopened on 4th December.The tired muscles needed some rest torejuvenate themselves after an array ofactivities in the month of November.Meanwhile the students of grade 5 to 9along with Ms.Sivapriya, Mr.Sethunathand principal ma’am went for a longweekend trip on 29th November toMalaysia and arrived back on 3rd night,tired and footsore, but happy they hadmanaged to see so many places. As every year this year also Blue star, Al Ainconducted the 19th edition of annual mega familysports event on 9th December at the Al Ain sportsplex stadium. The chief guest of the event wasOlympian Renjith Maheswari, triple jumpchampion. The festival got kicked off with thegrand march past, lighting the festival flame,torch relay and oath taking by the athletes.The students and teachers of Al Saad IndianSchool bagged the best performance award inmarch past for the 3rd consecutive year. The day long event had several events forfamily and women as well as the name indicatesand our students and teachers participated invarious track and field items. AbhinavSasidharan of grade 8A got 3rd in shotput,Rihana Satish of grade 4A got first prize inshotput, Mina Mubarak of grade 2A got first in25m race and Joel Nelson of grade 4A got 2ndprize in shotput. As the stadium was filled with great zeal andfrolicsome atmosphere, the event came to asuccessful end with a glittering closing ceremonywhere winners of various events were awardedwith medals, cups and cash prizes. Our principal ma’am was also awarded amomento by the bluestar team for the continuoussupport given to them. Page 4

The students of grade 1 and 2 got anopportunity to visit the Al ain dairy farmsituated along the Dubai-Al ain highway on 8thDecember. Two buses having 54 childrenaccompanied by 6 teachers were very excitedand eager for the trip. It was an educationaltour as the children were given a briefoverview about the routines and activities onthe dairy farm by one of the officials of thedairy farm. They also got to know about thevaried range of dairy products made by Al aindairy. All of them returned to the schoolhappily with Al ain dairy ice creams andjuices, supplied by the farm authorities. It wasindeed an informative, interesting andunforgettable trip not only for the studentsbut for the teachers also. Page 5

On the same day, the grades 3 and 4had a visit to the Al ain museum. The Alain palace museum was the former homeof the late UAE founder, Sheikh ZayedBin sultan Al Nahyan. The palace Builtin 1937 was once a political and socialhub. It was fun for the tiny tots who wereout from school on a working day alongwith their friends and teachers. The littleones enjoyed a lot not only because theygot some fun time with their friends outbut also, they got a chance to understandthe culture and heritage of UAE. Page 7

The school open house of FA3/CA4 was heldon 10th December for KG to grade 9 in whichparents were offered an opportunity to discusstheir pupil’s strengths and weaknesses. On the same day the parents had anorientation class in which our principal ma’amhad a talk about the importance of child centred,activity oriented learning. She also emphasised themotto of Bhavan’s - the overall development of thechild will happen only if he/she can beindependent learners. Page 9

14th December was the house boardDecoration Day with the theme “festivals of theworld”. 5 students along with 2 teachers fromeach house put up different work of students onthe house bulletin board . Page 11

The second round of spell bee was conductedon 14th December. The selected candidates will bepromoted to the knock out round, the semi finals. Page 14

Christmas is the time to give and forgive.Excitement reverberated in the air as thefestival of joy and giving was celebrated withgreat festive spirit.15th December was theChristmas celebration day in our school. Thechildren were allowed to wear party dresses orChristmas dresses on that day. The festivespirit was witnessed among school staff andstudents. The students of grades 1 and 2enthralled the audience by enacting as Santaclause. All the four houses presented a skit onChristmas followed by the school choir’s carolsongs. Through fun and celebration, the veryimportant message of peace, hope, love and joywas shared with the children. The event endedwith students and teachers wishing each other,heralding the Christmas and new year 2017. On the same day the school celebratedthe birthday of our teachers Ms.Sivapriya,Ms.Vandana, Ms. Fawsiya, Ms. Shilpa,Ms.Margarette, Ms. Bijila, Ms. Priyanka, Ms.Nisha, Ms.Shivani, Mr.Sunanth, Mr.Pabithra,Mr.Soumia and Ms.Parminder by cutting thecake. It is a pleasure to share my experiences as aparent with Al Saad Indian School, Al Ain. Mydaughter Sasha Mitra has been attending thisschool for the past two years and is now in Grade1B. I am very happy with the progress Sasha hasmade in her academic performance, generalknowledge, vocabulary, writing, speaking andanalytical skills. Sasha's teachers have my deepestadmiration and gratitude for turning her innatetalent into performance. I'm especially appreciative of the principalMs. Saroja Sahadevan for her constantencouragement and support to my child. I am Sasha Mitra Vommi, a student ofGrade 1B at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan's AlSaad Indian School. I love going to schooleveryday because my teachers and principalma'am are very caring. Also there are lot offun activities and learning materials at myschool. I enjoy a lot with my friends Faiha,Irene and Shelbino. My favourite subjects areEnglish,Maths and EVS.
