Volume : 3 Issue : 3 June 2016 Bhavans MélangeInter school literary and cultural fest was celebrated in a grand wayby the students of Al Saad Indian School on 1st and 2nd of June 2016.As part of this cultural fest, back to back inter house competitionswere conducted under the names of four houses such as Athena,Jupitar, Pluto, and Venus respectively. Over the two days, events suchas group dance, Skit, declamation, group song, recitation, news read-ing, debate, chat show Alice in Wonderland saw enthusiastic partici-pation from the scores of students. The fest was inaugurated by Mrs. Girija Baiju the Principal of Bhavans Abudhabi. The fest was a forum for students to nurture their talents, Mrs. Saroja Sahadevan the Principal of presided over the inaugural ceremony and exhorted the stu- dents to participate with a spirit of healthy competition. After lightening the lamp and the formal function a series of competitions followed. There were seven venues allotted for each item and the AC auditorium was the main venuewhere the main items were staged.The two days saw exuberant students participate in a myriad of competitions. All the students werecategorized into four groups namely Humming bird, Bull bull, Cuckoo, and Kingfisher. Competition wasstiff and it was quiet difficult in choosing the winners. The competitions helped to foster friendly rela-tions between students of different branches and interest.The performance of the students made the school ambiance so vibrant that it echoed and reverberat-ed in the walls of Bhavans and had long lasting effect. The school had been in a carnival mood as theevents started one by one.

Volume : 3 Issue : 3 June 2016 Environmental WEEK celebrationEach year World Environment Day is observed by the United Nations family and by communitiesacross the globe to raise awareness about the importance of environment in our lives. It the time toreflect, not just about challenges we face, but on the many initiatives small and large, that peopleare involved in the world over to make sure that world becomes a better, safer, more equitableplace for mankind.Bhavans group of education commemorated the special day with host of activities across grades un-der the timely supervision of the Science Nature & Eco Club. The celebration kicked off by launchinga special assembly where the slew of colourful items where brought out.Go Green march was organized by the students where the kids were armed with placards and cru-saders created quite an impact as they assessed the importance of the day.Different competitions such as poster making, quiz competition and best out of waste materialswere held respectively to boost the importance of the special day.

Volume : 3 Issue : 3 June 2016 MaRRS INTERNATIONAL SPELLING BEESpell bee is a competition in which contestants are asked to spell a broad selection of words,usually a varying degree of difficulty.A spelling bee competition wins organized by Marrs in our school campus on 22/0/16. The hallwas packed with number of contestants. The students from grades 1 to 9 participated with greatenthusiasm and they dueled through the toughest words. All the participants worked incrediblyhard to prepare themselves for this spelling challenge and they should be proud of it.Many battled it out to become champions but only a few could come out in flying colours. Thiscompetition was a wonderful learning source for all the participants.

Volume : 3 Issue : 3 June 2016 MODEL MAKING by SCIENCE Dept.Department of Science of our school conducted a special class on model making on 19/06/16 .Mrs. Nimmy had taken over the classes. Different types of 2D and 3D models were displayedand demonstrated how it is to be made.
