MNRE-RECOGNITION OF HTS' NOTABLE ACHIEVEMENT In recognition of HTS’ notable achievement in off-grid and decentralized solar applications, the Ministry of new and renewable energy awarded Honeywell Technology Solution (HTS) Hyderabad, Concentrated Solar Thermal (CST) Technology Excellence Awards for effective installation and usage of solar cooling system and driving green power initiatives. The award was received by Ramaiah Kothapalli, Site Leader, HTS Hyderabad from Piyush Goyal, Minister of state for power, coal and new and renewable energy, Government of India on April 29, 2016 at New Delhi. Solar thermal system installation at HTS Hyderabad converts heat / solar energy into cooling load application in work space air conditioning system. The installed capacity is 100TR in terms of cooling output. The integrated system optimizes the use of electricity by maximizing the use of clean, renewable solar thermal energy whilst meeting the required cooling load at work space. Solar thermal system installation contributes significant benefits covering 40% of air conditioning loads at peak radiation levels and savings of 100264 KWH of electrical energy equivalent to 87.2 tons of CO2 emissions. With nearly 50% of Honeywell’s portfolio dedicated to energy solutions, this achievement is a significant milestone for HTS and the solar thermal system installation enables demonstration of renewable energy solution integration with building energy management system to customers.
