3. COURSE DESCRIPTION Chemistry II enables students to know the fundamental concept of chemistry. The goal of studying chemistry at Tamhidi is to strengthen the knowledge and theory of chemistry to prepare the student to study chemistry in depth when they further their studies in the university. This subject focuses on the physical chemistry and introduction to organic chemistry. It also addresses the needs of students to broaden their knowledge of the organic compounds about their physical and chemicals properties. By studying chemistry and learning about the composition of our world students can understand about the environment and ourselves clearly.
4. LEARNING OUTCOMES Upon successful completion of this course students should have the ability to: 1. Demonstrate the basic concepts, principles and theories of fundamental chemistry. (LO1 – C3) 2. Show ability to conduct simple experiments, as well as to interpret data. (LO2 – P3) 3. Present physical and chemical properties of organic compounds. (LO3 – C3)
5. ELEMENTARY KNOWLEDGE • Candidates are assumed to have good background and knowledge of basic concepts in chemistry at SPM level.
