For Immediate Release Press Contact: Tom Shinall, TMP Director of Marketing [email protected] 770-387-1300 PRIMARY & ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS ART EXHIBITION ON VIEW NOW AT BOOTH WESTERN ART MUSEUMNearly 80 student-artists, representing 13 area schools, featured in exhibitionCARTERSVILLE, GA – Booth Western Art Museum is proud to announce the showing of the annualPrimary & Elementary Schools Art Exhibition in Borderlands Gallery. On view through May 14, thisexhibit features 81 pieces (66 2-D and 15 3-D) of work by 78 student-artists that are represented from ourlocal city and county primary and elementary schools.“With this annual exhibition, Booth Western Art Museum celebrates the accomplishments of young artistsand arts educators through the lens of our local community,” says Patty Dees, Booth Museum director ofeducation. “Supporting our teachers in their efforts to spotlight creative talent through visual arts is vital tothe mission of the Booth. We encourage all educators, administrators, family, and community members tostop by the Museum to experience this showcase of talent from Bartow and Cartersville City Schoolstudents.”Throughout the year, art teachers in each primary and elementary school expose their students to a widevariety of art mediums and challenging lessons. Each of the displayed artwork pieces have been createdby students, grades kindergarten through five, throughout the 2016-2017 school year. Visitors to BoothMuseum during this show will see pieces of original art including ceramics, pastel drawings, printmaking,paintings, paper collages, watercolors, papier-mâché, marker, and abstract sculpture from student-artistsrepresenting 13 schools within Bartow County: Adairsville Elementary, Allatoona Elementary, CartersvillePrimary, Cartersville Elementary, Clear Creek Elementary, Cloverleaf Elementary, Euharlee Elementary,Hamilton Crossing Elementary, Kingston Elementary, Mission Road Elementary, Pine Log Elementary,Taylorsville Elementary School and White Elementary School.The official exhibition opening and meet the artists’ reception for the student-artists and their families willbe held on Thursday, April 20 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Booth Western Art Museum. Light refreshmentswill be available in the Borderlands Meeting Room courtesy of Publix Super Market at Main StreetCartersville. The Primary & Elementary Schools Art Exhibition will remain on display in BorderlandsGallery until May 14, 2017.
