Welcome Wordsby Dr. Ruja Ignatova,Patron of OneWorld FoundationThe time has come to once again reflect on ouraccomplishments during the last 12 months andlook forward to achieving even greater results in2017. As a Patron of the OWF, I feel honored topresent the milestones of our journey in 2016.I am sure you won’t be disappointed, as ourimpact surpassed even our wildest dreams.I am humbled to say that the OneWorldFoundation successfully funded 64 projects in24 countries, allocating €339 625 to causes thatchanged 5205 lives for the better. We empoweredchildren and young people to grow and thrivein a safe and friendly environment. Seeing all ourcampaigns and initiatives come together as planned,I am thrilled to say that our impact has soared from2015 when we reached out to 776 youngsters. We didgreat on social media as well, where we have more followersand supporters than ever before. Please continue sharing, asthis helps us reach to more and more people in need.Once again, I wish to extend our gratitude to our partners and colleagues who help us reach children in needin the most remote areas. januaryTackling Poverty throughEducationTogether with Fara Foundation, we encouragechildren at risk in the Suceava Distrit inNorth-Eastern Romania to stay in school andprevent them from street begging. “With every year of education achieved, the chances of a child ending up in poverty reduce by 5%” Dara Foundation Giving Future to Orphans Seoun, Say, Sun, Thy, Khun, Veoun, Horn, Phat, Kim and Heng are the 10 orphans we support in Cambodia by covering their school fees and by ensuring all their school materials, food and live essentials.8 Yearbook 2016

februaryProviding school materialsThrough our partners from Child’s Dream, OneWorldFoundation contributed funds for teaching supplies tothe Karen State Education Assistance Group (KSEAG)which is a community-based organisation assistingschools across Myanmar. 1st project in south americaScholarship ProgrammeWe provided 20 scholarships for Guatemalan students so they can continue their secondary educationwithout worrying about fees, school supplies and uniforms. april Orphanage and School SupportOneWorld Foundation aims to ensure that every child has the same opportunities and access to technogoloiesin order to provide them with equl start in life. Therefore, we provide special equipment and computers for orphanges and schools in countries like Ukraine (Terebovlia boarding school), Bulgaria (Topoli orphanage), India (Dhara Poor Child Education Support). Less than half of India’s children between the age of 6 and 14 go to school. The situation is even worse for girls among whom 53% (5 to 9 years old) are illiterate. Yearbook 2016 11

may Supporting Young Talents Eight young musicians were given the chance to present their skills in piano and violin playing at the Gala Concert “60 Years Bulgaria in UNESCO” supported by OWF and organized by Unesco Club. 60 Years Bulgaria in UNESCO Life in 4 Seasons “Life in Four Seasons” is a short movie that motivates and inspires youngsters to fight for their dreams and, in an age of technologies and the Internet, to keep human relationships alive.12 Yearbook 2016

junePhysics LabTogether with the Association of the Leaders of the NaturalSciences Olympic Teams, we equipped a Physics Lab with 5working places at the Physics Faculty of Sofia University to helpwith the preparation of students and the Bulgarian Olympic Team.Charity AuctionIn June 2016 we managed to collect70 000 EUR during a Charity Auctionin London. june Autism Therapy Workshop OneWorld Foundation funded an autism therapy workwhop led by the American expert in the field, Dr. Jake Greenspan, and organized by our partners from I CAN TOO. Sensory Room The city of Almaty in Kazakhstan has now its first Sensory Room where children with disabilities can play and receive therapy. It is a place specifically designed and utilized to promote positive change in children with communication disorders. Chino and Nacho’s Angels OneWorld Foundation has teamed up with the South American singers, Chino & Nacho, to raise funds to help pediatric cancer patients as there is a desperate shortage of drugs and medical supplies in Venezuela.14 Yearbook 2016

august High-School Scholarship Programme OWF provided full scholarships for the three-year high school education of two Thai students – a boy and a girl. School Meal Programme OneWorld Foundation funded a year-round programme for mid-day meals for 620 school children in a school (ZPHS Nadupuru) in the Visakhapatnam district in Andhra Pradesh. Children’s House Support OWF supported For Our Children’s House where a real family is taking care of 6 babies deprived of parental care.16 Yearbook 2016

1st project in sri lanka ICT Classes OWF sponsored ICT classes for 75 children at the Somawathi Home in Sri Lanka for a year.TIMC ScholarshipsOWF ensured that the Bulgarian Math team hastickets for the International Maths Competitionin Thailand where they got 1 bronze, 1 silverand 2 golden medals.Post-Earthquake SupportOWF donated funds to the Italian Red Cross to support children and their families who were victims of thedevastating earthquake. september 1st project in mexico Dream with Me OWF fulfilled the wishes of Enlace’s pediatric Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD) patients in Mexico. “We are so grateful that OneWorld Foundation, led by Dr. Ruja Ignatova, has selected us and we can help our boys to fulfill their own dreams and make a better life for them.” said Graciela Mendez, Founder and Legal Representative of Enlace. Medical Course for 40 girlsOWF funded a Professional Medical Course for 40 girlsfrom disadvantaged backgrounds in India so they havebigger chances in finding a job.Musikalye: Street Children ConcertOWF was the major sponsor of the ‘MusiKalye’ event, held in Manila, which main goal was to present thetalents of the street children and to motivate them to develop their skills even further.Yearbook 2016 21

november 1st project in brazil Art Lessons for Street Children OWF funded an art project that aims to promote a culture of peace among children and youth who were recently rescued from the streets of Fortaleza, Brazil by The Little Nazareno Association (LNA). Tackling Child Labour OWF supported the opening of 6 centers for work and outreach activities with street and working children in Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh, operated by our local partners from CHETNA. Modern Classroom for Kids with Special Needs OWF helped with the renovation and equipment of a special Montessori classroom for the 160 children from the School Centre for Inclusive Education “Maria Montessori” in Constanta, Romania.22 Yearbook 2016

1st project in pakistanCollege BuildingTogether with the Halimah Trust we set a new ambitiousgoal to build a Girl’s College for 400 underprivilegedgirls in Wazirabad, Pakistan. The Adventures of Super Ted Welcome to the fascinating world of pirates, golden coins and financial institutions.As we believe that financial education is an essential tool for children’s future success, we developped acomic series to help children from 5 to 12 years old understand basic finance and economic terms.The series is available online in the Kids’s Corner section of our website.We’ve began distributing the comics to children in India and Nigeria.
