Homecoming WeekEnds With Game Against Murray And A Dance. Homecoming week welcomed bock alumni andincluded five days of craziness by studentbody andfaculty. The alumni assembly included skits anddonee numbers and ended with a graphic scenebackgrounded by 'Anotherone Bites the Dust.' Itwas a hit with the students. Paraphernalia such asbuttons, tee shirts and hats were sold at Farmer'sMarket, but there was no food. Clubs sold itemsduring these two days as fund raisers and they alsosold them at the Homecoming game Friday night. The parade of club floats during the day treatedthe students to skill and color. The VICA float wonfirst place as the best float. Later that day at thegame, the winning floats paraded around the trackonce again. The game was against Murray and welost. During half-time our own Charlonians marchedfor the crowds. The week come to a close with adonee in the gym. The group that performed wasThunderbuck Ram. ''Once Upon AMattress\" Is A Sleeper. like anything that happens at school, 1 2 there are bound to be memorable events. 3There is no exception with the productionof 'Once Upon A Mattress.' During rehears-als there were things that the cost willnever forget: Robyn Stuver trying to teachthe Spanish Panic, Robyn Havens forget-ting that there wasn't a mattress in themoat, when 'Shy' was totally forgottenand had to be reblocked, the tape recorderthat wouldn' t work trying to record 'Quiet'.There were the auditions when 150 peo.pie showed up for nine major speakingparts. opening night, the perfecting of skillswith each performance. closing night, andthe feeling of satisfaction of a job welldone. Rehearsals were every night for manyhours, and cast members come home ev-ery night wondering why they got them-selves into this, but had the strange feelingof obligation. So it went until November 18for the Middle School performance and forfour more nights. Cast members included: Robyn Havens(Fred), Troy Gogan (Dauntless), SandraDahl (Queen Aggravain), Orion Voiles(King Sextimus). Nancy Ayers (Jester), JeffSkoubye (Minstrel). The story concerns a kingdom ruledover by a talkative queen and a muteking. A princess must be found to marryDauntless. A girl. who arrives by swim-ming the moat. is brought in from theswamps. She must pass a test beforeshe can marry the prince. Oh, Good Grief, It's Charlie Brown! Yes, it is the blockhead and this wasthe theatre arts annual stage produc-tion. This year they presented 'You're oGood Man Charlie Drown!' The six actorsput their experience to test by perform-ing on o stage with hardly any propsand no scenery. The ploy containedmany touches of humor that all 'Pea-nuts' lovers hove come to know. The fantastic Varsity team went on to win most of their games and were in the running for the region title.
