It SPIRIT OF GOOD TIMES was the first of many contests for the aspiring Daisy Maes and lil' Abners. There were arrow shooting contests, cake baking contests, and hairy chins for the lil' Abners. There were con- tests in pie baking, and hairy legs for the Daisy Maes. Topping off the eventful week was the humourous Dog Patch assembly and the romance filled Dog Patch Drag. At the assembly the couples had to compete in both an obstacle course and a singing contest. The song com- petition was carried to a new high when Russell Muir sang with the aid of a hellium balloon. All of the couples enjoyed themselves greatly. as well as supplying the studentbody with a few much needed laughs. The over all win- ners were Jorge Arce-larreta and lisa Myrick. They were crowned at the fi- nal event of the week, the Dog Patch drag. The Drag was the one event where everyone who went could be involved as couples casual and often ident ical dress. The week was enjoyed by all and will long be remembered as one of the funniest weeks of the year.88

Students from Mrs. Smith's art classes assisted in the painting of the sets. The sets themselves were cteated by Mr. DeMill and his shop classes. Combine th1s with the many hours of rehearsal and practice from the actors themselves a nd you come up with a pretty strong production. The main charactor Atticus Finch was played by senior Dan Greer. Clark Ed- winson portrayed the accused black Tom Robinson. Nicole Taylor plays the child Scout who is caught up in the action of the play. Bonnie Green por- trays Scout as an adult and serves as the narrator. Erick Vance plays the other c hild Jem, and David Tate h1s friend Dill. Direct ing and working the gears for the play this year was Robyn Mousley with Tanya Thomas as her student d1 rector.
