DIGGIN'IN TO THE PAST... The history classes at Jordan taught students the importance of our past.Students in the A.P. European History and U.S. History learned of themany accomplishments and discoveries throughout the world ofour past. In A.P. American History and A.P. European History, students beganearlyintheyearstudyingforthe\"Big Test\"attheendofthe secondsemester. Many hours were spent studying dates, people, and places. Each history class taught something new and interesting, which kept theclasses' constant attention. Thanks to Coach May, Mr. Rassmussen, Mr. Soltis, and Mr. Broadhead, each individual was able to retain at least some bit ofinformation with their creative teaching methods (Coach May's Wheel ofJeopardy.) Doing it with VOCAT]ONAL Not like the traditional \"sit down and lecture\" type classes, were thevocational classes. They ranged from graphic arts to welding and fromdrafting to sewing. It is said that people learn better through experi-ence, and although it may be hard to time travel back to WWI to passyour history test, if you take photography don't plan on learning from abook; you are handed the film and must learn the process of photogra-phy by actually doing it. Although we are only required to take two vocational classes tograduate, most of us choose vocational classes for electives too. If youhave an old beat up car, Auto body is probably the best class for you totake. And if you are one of those who don't have time for breakfast, 1stperiod Cooking will ease your stomach while giving you your neces-sary credits. Not only do we learn things in vocational classes that we can use inour careers and in everyday life, they are fun classes that teach us howto learn from experience.Auto Mechanics, or Cooking?
