DDR’S NOTE \"Patriotism should not be for a day, but from day one\" Hence, it is rightly called 'Azadi ka Amrit Mohotsav' because the celebration of India's 75th year of Indepedence is a celebration in itself. India celebrates Independence not only from the British Rule but also its 'Atmanirbharta - Non dependence' It is indeed a pleasure to be writing this note for सव् तंतभर् ाभरतारतbubluleltlienti.n. While we celebrate today, we should really understand the motive behind it. We in Rotaract have worked in our own small ways to make ourselves, our localities, our communities better. Let us pledge today while celebrating to keep working selflessly in making our country a better place to live in. Because alone we can do little, together we can do so much Regards, DRR Rtr. ICED’S NOTE Its gives me an immense pleasure to write as a District International Cultural Exchange Direc- tor for the very first time for your dynamic club. India is known for its rich Culture and Heritage. The Indian culture varies like its vast geography. People speak in different languages, dress differently, follow different religions, eat different food but are of the same temperament. So whether it is a joyous occasion or a moment of grief, people participate whole-heartedly, feeling the happiness or pain. Talking about 15th August where India celebrates its Independence Day every year to com- memorate India's freedom from the British rule in 1947. The Independence Day also marks the anniversary of undivided India's partition into India and Pakistan. Independence Day has its own significance and purpose, I am glad to be part of a unique concept of how all the clubs contribute in the celebration of 15th August among various rota- ract clubs. I wish Your club best wishes for the Multi District Bulletin Regards, Rtr. Chaitanya Nilkanthanawar International Culture Exchange Director (2021-22) RID 3170 4

SECRETARY’S NOTE The history of India’s freedom struggle shines through the immortal courage of the heroic personalities like Veer Damodar Savarkar, Mahatma Gandhi, Bal Gangadhar Tilak, Bhagat Singh, Chandra Shekhar Azad, and many more who lived in the age of national upsurge and sacrificed their lives for the sake of their beloved country India. Such great patriots fought for the country and against the atrocities that were being perpetrated on the countrymen. This year being the 75th Indian Independence Day, we shall remember all the sacrifices and struggles made by our freedom fighters. We celebrate Independence Day with a feeling of nationalism and patriotism across the country. On this day every citizen echoes with festive feeling and pride in the diversity and unity of the people. ISD’S NOTE “Forget not that the grossest crime is to compromise with injustice and wrong. Remember the eternal law: you must give if you want to get.” - Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose This year the 15th August was a landmark day in the history of our Country, as we celebrated our 75th Independence Day . On this day roads of India are enhanced with tricolors. All the orga- nization’s schools and institutions are celebrating the day of freedom. But few are the people who actually understand the true importance of it. Keeping the same thing in mind We decided to come up with the idea of Joint Bulletin to know the different ideas and ways of how different Rotaract Clubs celebrated this day. We are very much happy to have all the collaborating clubs on the board with us, I am very much pleased by your support and for your fellowship with our Club. Today let us cherish the ones who made our independence possible. Freedom is hard to get, but we were blessed to have it. Rotaract Club of Venugram-Belgaum RID - 3170 It is the 75th Indian Independence Day this year which means India has achieved 74 years of freedom. We as Indians pay respect to all the leaders who fought bravely for our nation's freedom in the past. We, Rotaract Club of Venugram - Belgaum have a tradition of 10 years of celebrating Indian Indepen- dence Day at Snehalaya, Belgaum which is a school for specially abled children and slow learners. Members of Rotaract Club of Venugram - Belgaum and Interact Club of Venugram - Belgaum with Snehalaya's Chairman Mr. Naresh Patil, Snehalaya's Secretary Mr. Dhanaraj Kavilkar and Chief Guest Mr. Paresh Shinde were also present for the event. President of Rotaract Club of Venugram - Belgaum Rtr. Harsh Paresh Shinde and President of Interact Club of Venugram - Belgaum Itr. Naman Chougale hoisted the Flag. By visiting Snehalaya, we realised life can be extra-challenging for a kid with special needs. It might be harder to do everyday chores like learning to read, communicate or doing anything independently. Spending time with them has always been a surreal blessing to us. The event concluded with snacks and distribu- tion of sweets. 9

After this we participated in a Belgaum Zone event called “Vajra Swatantra” where we made a human formation of the number “75” signifying the 75th Indian Independence Day. Independence Day celebration is a reminder of the sacrifices of our valiant freedom fighters who stood up against the colonisers and even suffered harsh consequences unflinchingly, so that the later generations could breathe in free air. Slaving for 200 years and claiming back our country makes us marvel at the great leaders. 10

Rotaract Club of VIIT RID - 3131 It all started with an idea to have a physical meet which was supposed to be after the end semester exams. The President of RCVIIT , Rtr. Suraj Surkutla conveyed a message for this purpose stating the date , time and place . The date selected was 15th Of August and the place decided was Parvati hills, Pune. For almost six months after getting admitted to the college, every thing was online and all these virtual events were weird. So this physical meet was very much needed. We were very excited as the exams were over and something good was about to happen. The “D” day , our Independence day as well as the meeting day was arrived. The Rotaractors decided to meet near the “Parvati Paytha” at 7 AM. At first we had a brief greeting session as we all were meeting for the first time. Our President Rtr. Suraj had a long journey from Aurangabad to Pune only to physically meet the Rotaractors of RCVIIT. Then we started heading towards the Parvati temple . The trek was short and simple. The lush greenery and fresh air were the main element for the serotonin factor . As we reached the temple , there was a flag hoisting ceremony . We all participated with great enthusiasm . The members of the temple committee preached their heart felt gratitude towards our nation which we all agreed and felt a pride after listening those words. After the hoisting ceremony we headed towards the corner of Parvati, from where we captured the bird eye view of Pune. That part was the most interesting one as the view was mesmerizing. 13

The time was to leave the Parvati and head towards the breakfast joint as we all were hungry. We all decided to have breakfast at FC road . And when it comes to Fc and breakfast south indian joints are the first preference . The iconic “Wadeshwar” was our good to go place . All the members had a spoonful breakfast and healthy discussion & interaction. After our breakfast , it was the time to say goodbye to this new family. It was a splendid meet and all the members were just awesome. It was a great experience to meet all Rotaractors and interact with them. We made new and strong bonds with each other and successfully complet- ed our first physical event of this year. We celebrated the Indian Independence day with joy by making and strengthening the bonds among the Rotaractors & got ready to serve the community. 14
