DSB MUN 2.0 ALL INDIA POLITICAL PARTIES MEET Dear diary, Today our class teacher asked us about secularism and why is it important. I said \"secularism means equal laws for all people regardless of religion.\" To which my friend added \" it is important because of our country's diversity\", our teacher remarked our answer. She then inquired whether it would be possible to provide a consistent legal framework for all people, regardless of faith? To which my entire class responded with a resounding yeah!!!! Everyone began to list the benefits, but then my Muslim classmate declared that it is against Sharia law. \"Do you all know that is a really controversial topic in our country,\" our teacher replied with a smile, she told us what is going on and oh dear I am telling you IT IS BONKERS. Later, our teachers dismissed us and told us to prepare for a debate on this issue in our class the next day. As I conduct study on this issue, I am perplexed by what the public have to say. This is just too much for an eighth- grader!!!!! What ma'am was referring to was UCC...........Anyway, I'm going to keep brainstorming. I'll write more later. Bhavya juyal
