WELCOME Like many of you, I have a list of short and long-term goals I want to accomplish. Some of these things are easier to do than others. My current list includes mastering the keto diet, sugar-free baking, gentle parenting, weight-lifting and much to my husband’s delight, learning how to properly use Excel. Volunteering provides an opportunity to make such lists and to try new things. With that in mind, I am pleased to be trying something new by launching our new Supporter Newsletter during Volunteer Week 2022! I am the lucky one who gets to work with you and it’s my job to create exciting content for your new supporter website (watch this space!), make sure you have all the resources you need to do your jobs, and keep you informed of the work we do at Life. For you, maybe volunteering is learning a new skill, meeting new friends, or perhaps developing your CV for your future career aspirations. Whatever it is, I hope as a volunteer (or a friend of one) you are exploring what you can accomplish, what new short and long-term goals you can set for yourself to achieve, and go for it! In this, our new improved supporter's newsletter, we meet Kim who through volunteering in Nuneaton learnt to develop her skills as a volunteer. In our Staff Spotlight we meet Jason who started his journey as a Life volunteer and is now our very own resident software wizard! Publishing our new supporter newsletter in Volunteer Week is exciting and I hope that through it you can learn more about us at Life, each other and the cause which we are all passionate about – supporting women facing pregnancy or pregnancy loss so they can flourish. I hope when you put this down you feel inspired to write a list of all the goals you want to accomplish and can share them with your fellow volunteers to inspire them to try new things. I hope this newsletter will become a regular feature on your coffee table or inbox that will open the door for conversations with friends about the new things they can accomplish, alongside the valuable work you do at Life. Cheers, and enjoy your new issue!! Hannah Batten xx Supporter Engagement Officer
