Message from the Rector On the 16th anniversary of the Faculty of Public Health’s establishment, the Tham- masat community has witnessed the development and determination of the Faculty of Public Health to become a leading institution in public health teaching and learning, and to play an important role in producing graduates with knowledge, morals, and a commitment to serving society, particularly in assisting in the prevention of COVID-19 infection among the Thammasat community and Thai people. In the past year, the Faculty of Public Health has played an important role in pushing for solutions to health problems and continuously promoting good health by raising campaigns to encourage social trends to prevent health hazards and promote personal health. The faculty also works with us as a change agent to mobilize Tham- masat University to be a safe university. In addition, the faculty enhanced outstanding organizational management and the health service for society. The faculty also focuses on process development, research, and academic service to society, as well as the preservation of arts and culture until they are accepted by society indefinitely. There are also research works by faculty and students who have won prizes in the health promotion innovation contest. Publishing in national and international academic journals, as well as continuously expanding the educational network by signing cooperation agreements in various fields with parties and organizations, as well as leading universities in foreign countries These works not only publicize the Faculty of Public Health but also contribute to making Thammasat University recognized as a university for the people. I and the Thammasat community would like to express our appreciation for the dean’s administration, the management team, faculty members, academic support per- sonnel, students, and alumni of the Faculty of Public Health in terms of the important mechanism for mobilizing all of the faculty’s missions to meet the policies and goals of the university. Message from the Dean Throughout the 16 years since the establishment of the Faculty of Public Health at Thammasat University leading up to its 17th year, the faculty has faced strategic challenges in many areas. Specifically, the adaptation of learning management to re- spond to the new generation and the COVID-19 outbreak. The faculty is committed to adapting and being flexible in all aspects of operating in accordance with policies and missions compliant with the university’s strategic plan in order to continuously produce graduates with GREATS attributes, conduct research and innovation that leads to social development changes, promote cooperative networks among both national and international parties, enhance academic and health services for people, hold on with sustainable and transparent management, and participate in the community of public health sciences and the Association of Public Health Sciences at Thammasat University. The faculty continued to provide integrations of multiple disciplines through a learning process that encouraged students, staff, and service recipients to criticize, an- alyze, and research by themselves in creative activities, research, and innovation as a result of faculty researchers and students who have won both national and international awards, as well as GREATS attributes that lead students into quality graduates as 21st Century leaders who are ready to use their capacity and knowledge to explore the solution to deal with challenging situations effectively.. In addition, the faculty continues with full support to develop the faculty of public health to become a smart faculty according to the university’s agenda, which will lead to a leap forward in improving the quality of education and the quality of life of the public health community in the future. Finally, I would like to thank the university, the management team, faculty mem- bers, academic support personnel, students, and alumni of the Faculty of Public Health for mobilizing and reinforcing the operation in all missions to achieve the goals, as well as external experts who guide the Faculty’s operation to be in accordance with various policies and missions until success is achieved. Budgeting on the Internet for Bachelor’s Students The faculty provides budgets for students in order to support the online studies for Bachelor’s students (340 per capita). The conclusion of payment included: the payment for 520 students in AY 1/2021 is 176,800 Baht and 491 students in AY 2/2021 is 166,940 Baht. The total payment for the Faculty of Public Health is 343,740 Baht. 6. Budgeting on the Antigen Test Kits (ATK) for Onsite Classes According to the Thammasat University Announcement on Guidelines for Classes, Teaching and Learning Arrangements for Academic Year 2021, the faculty provided the prevention on COVID-19 by ATK testing before learning and teaching in hybrid courses, especially laboratory classes. Rangsit campus: Due to the Information about COVID-19 testing (details in the table), the faculty gives advice on ATK use and provides it (1 item/person/week) in order to test before attending the classroom during March to May 2022 about 1,000 items. All students who participate in the study visit outside of the university must have previously submitted an ATK test result to the staff. 19

Annual Report 2021 Faculty of Public Health Lampang campus: In academic year 2021, the teaching and learning arrangements also follow the Thammasat University announcement by providing body temperature measurement and COVID-19 testing for students before attending their classrooms. 20

The interdisciplinary internship course Rangsit campus: From May 26 to June 13, 2022, junior students, the Bachelor of Sci- ence in Public Health, gain experiences on the internship program at Bang Duea Subdistrict Municipality, Tambon Bang Duea, Amphoe Mueang Pathum Thani Province. Students had the opportunity to provide academic services to the community, including water quality testing and health check-up service. 22

Faculty of Public Health Annual Report 2021 Lampang campus: From May 20 to 25, 2022, 71 junior students, the Bachelor of Science in Public Health, gain experiences on the internship program at Viangtan Sub-district, Hang Chat District,. Lampang Province. Students had improved their conceptual thinking skill on Public Health principles, teamwork skills with interdisciplinary partners and awareness on the key role of health professionals for society. 9. Student Development Activities in Academic Year 2021 Rangsit campus: The assessment project on primary health care responded by Assistant Professor Dr.Kaysorn Sumpowthong as a project manager has been working together with student affairs. 23

Annual Report 2021 Faculty of Public Health Activity “Supplementary teaching in Science and Mathematics” improving the understanding of fundamentals and preparation for the examination. Workshop “the Development of Academic Skills to an International Standard ‘’ and “The International Organization for Standardization for the Environmental Management System: ISO14001” for Environmental Health program. Lampang campus: On November 6, 2021, Bachelor of Science Programme in Environmental Health program in the subject, EN492 Seminar on Environmental Health, semester 2/2021 provided students with the opportunity to learn the process of organizing seminars. The seminar has 2 online topics: 1) Turning the Plastic Waste Crisis to an Environmentally Friendly Solution and 2) Climate Change: A Disaster Near the Body That People Don’t Care About. 24

Faculty of Public Health Annual Report 2021 On November 19, 2021, The Faculty of Public Health, Lampang Center organized the training project for The International Organization for Standardization for the Environmental Management System: ISO14001 for 69 senior students in the Environmental Health and Occupational Health and Safety program. The project aims to enhance academic/professional skills beyond the classroom and apply the knowledge into practice for the benefit of communities. On February 17 to 18, 2021, The Faculty of Public Health, Lampang Center organized the training project for The International Organization for Standardization for Health and safety management standard: ISO 45001 for 69 senior students in the Environmental Health and Occupational Health and Safety program. The project aims to enhance academic/professional skills beyond the classroom and apply the knowledge into practice for the benefit of communities. On June 5, 2022, Bachelor of Science in Occupational Health and Safety, Lampang Center, organized a workshop “Basic Fire Fighting” which aims to enhance knowledge and understanding of basic firefighting as well as develop personal skills in basic firefighting into real practice by speakers from the Office Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Lampang Province. 25

Study Visit for Undergraduate Students Rangsit campus: Bachelor of Science in Occupational Health and Safety Firefighting training at the PTT Fire Training Center, the training for the 1st generation on June 18 to 19, 2022 and the 2nd generation on June 20 to 21, 2022. Training for working in confined spaces provided by the Safety Association for the 1st generation on June 5, 2022 and the 2nd generation on June 19, 2022. 26

Faculty of Public Health Annual Report 2021 Representatives of faculty, staff, students and alumni in Occupational Health and Safety Program, Faculty of Public Health, Thammasat University collaborated with Occupational Health Program students from various institutions disclose the intention on the presence of safety officers at professional level (Safety Officers) by submission a letter to the Minister of Labor to oppose the legislation. Bachelor of Science in Environmental Health Study visit at the water production and distribution station of the Provincial Waterworks Authority, Ayutthaya branch, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya province was provided for Environmental Health Program students in subject, EN363 Clean Water Scouts for communities and industries. 27

A study visits at Bangkadi Industrial Park Co., Ltd., Bangkadi subdistrict, Mueang Pathum Thani district Pathum Thani province was provided for Environmental Health Program students in subject, EN382 wastewater treatment technology with the topic of wastewater treatment systems flood protection system and water supply system. Faculty of Public Health Annual Report 2021 A study visits to Air Quality Analysis Station, Phra Bat Subdistrict, Mueang District, Lampang province in terms of the automatic measurement of air polution to monitor air polution on April 25, 2022. A study visits at Kiew Lom Dam Water Production Station in Provincial Waterworks Authori- ty, Bunnak Phatthana, Mueang Lampang District, Lampang province, including the raw water pumping system, water production system, water pumping system to the community, maintenance and troubleshooting of water supply systems on May 6, 2022. A study visits to the Water Quality Management Center Lampang, Nakhon Lampang Mu- nicipal Office in terms of wastewater treatment, maintenance, troubleshooting of wastewater treatment systems and analysis of wastewater/effluent quality of the wastewater treatment system on May 6, 2022. 29

Outstanding Works Created by Faculty of Public Health Students Rangsit campus: Innovative Health Promotion Program students received Honorable Mention prize on innovative academic presentation (Poster Presentation) with the title of Oldociety at the 1st National Health Promotion and Elderly Care Innovation Conference 2021 on December 27, 2021. The project has advisors, including Asst.Prof.Pol.Maj. Dr.Katiya Ivanovitch and Dr.Kitrawee Jiraratsatit Environmental Health Program Alumni who have published two academic articles from the special project in environmental health. The project’s advisor is Associate Professor Dr.Arroon Ketsakorn. 31

Annual Report 2021 Faculty of Public Health Faculty members and Environmental Health Program alumni who have published the article in the Journal of Safety and Health, Volume 15, No. 1 (2022): January - June 2022 (TCI 1) with the title of Assessment of Indoor Air Quality in the Lecture Room of Undergraduate Students in a University in Pathum Thani Province which is part of a special project in the Environmental Health Program. Health Promotion Program alumni participated in innovative health promotion presentations at the OSH Avenue International Conference 2022 (OAIC 2022) on June 10 to 12, 2022. 32

Faculty of Public Health Annual Report 2021 Innovative Health Promotion Program students participated in the poster presentation on innovations in elderly care promotion with the title of “YOU NEVER OLD ALONE” at the 1st National Academic Conference on Health Promotion and Elderly Care Innovation on December 27, 2021. Innovative Health Promotion Program students (junior students) received Honorable Mention prize on innovative academic presentation innovations in elderly care promotion with the title of Oldociety at the 1st National Health Promotion and Elderly Care Innovation Conference 2021 on December 27, 2021. Innovative Health Promotion Program students (junior students) participated in academic presentation under the Innovation Development Project on Occupational Health and Safety for 2022 with the title of “Reducing the risk of WORK sedentary by yourself” organized by Thailand Institute of Occupational Safety, Health and Environment in the workplace. Faculty of Public Health Annual Report 2021 On June 16, 2022, Laboratory Visiting and Assessment Subcommittee from Thammasat University visited the laboratory No.513, 5th floor, Piyachart Building, Faculty of Public Health, Thammasat University, and the laboratory a physical potential Laboratory facility passed the laboratory assessment (BSL-2) on June 28, 2022. Lampang Campus The laboratory of The Faculty of Public Health, Lampang center is ready to support teaching and learning practices for students to develop personal skills as public health professionals and provide academic services for society. These are the following laboratories: High-tech laboratory: There are modern analytical tools such as Gas Chromatograph-Mass spectrometers (GC-MS), TOC/TN analyzers, microscopy, trinocular microscope for fluorescence with photography set, FT-IR spectrometers, FT-IR Microscope Spectrometers, etc. 41

Faculty of Public Health Annual Report 2021 Student Affairs Student Development Activities The Student Affair has been developed by the Faculty of Public Health by appointing a student affairs committee consisting of representatives of faculty, staff, alumni committee, external agency, student leader both Rangsit and Lampang campus as a student affairs committee in 3 sets, which have different roles and responsibilities, consisting of 1. Student Affairs Direction Committee 2. Student Affairs Operation Committee 3. Student Life Quality Improvement Committee The Student Affairs Committee will organize activities in accordance with the Faculty policies and strategies as established by the university to develop student potential and improve the quality of life of students so that students are ready to learn new things effectively and graduate with GREATS attributes. 43

Annual Report 2021 Faculty of Public Health Due to the outbreak of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19), many students were at risk or infected with COVID-19 which is the cause of the economic shortage and learning management. The Student Affairs Committee has recognized the importance of the quality of life for students and decided to adjust the learning process to a new normal during COVID-19 both onsite and online, so that student activities can be operated appropriately and achieve the objectives under the measures to monitor the spread of the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19). The past implementation in academic year 2021 as follows: Development of Quality of Life of Students (Rangsit and Lampang campus) 1. Allocate scholarships to help students affected by the outbreak of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) : - Scholarship from Thammasat University - Scholarship from the Faculty of Public Health - Emergency loan from “The Student Assistance Fund of the Faculty of Public Health” 2. Provide requirement according to “Guidance for Student Affairs on How to Proceed When Students Are at Risk of or Infected With COVID-19” 44

Faculty of Public Health Annual Report 2021 Delivery of survival bags, including food, essential medicines and deliver Antigen Test Kits (ATK) for high-risk students who need to be quarantined at their accommodation. 24 Hours Counseling Service for students who were at risk or infected with COVID-19. 45

Launch the preventive system for undergraduate and postgraduate student to support learning arrangement at the university (Onsite) Developing on the student service, FPH Covid-19 App, via application and website in order to check in before attending and leaving the class and inform the requirement to change the course from ‘Onsite’ to ‘Online’ in case of high- risk or infection with COVID-19. 46
