I have a photo of three-year-old me hugging a helicopter at an airshow. One day we went to a grass to feed cows and horses on our family farm. I’d sit in the cutout, field so we could see an airplane. It was yellow and small and now I know it was a Piper J-3 Cub. moving side-to-side while pretending I was flying a warbird. That moment set a passionate course for the rest of my life. My first flight in my L-39 went great in the air, but not on the ground. I was returning back home Flying disaster relief during the 2010 Haiti earthquake was incredibly memorable. I absolutely love the freedom and control of my schedule that comes from owning my own jet. It goes beyond being able to manage my time more effectively into a much greater freedom to choose activities that are impractical when having to consider more conventional travel choices.
