FASHION & STYLE//Dressing For Success,The Manly Way! By Jumoke Olatunji Hello Gentlemen of MRS, as promised a feature just for you. Of course I am no expert on dressing for men, obviously! But I'd like to think for men & women the rules for dressing for success in the work place aren't so gender specic. Luckily for the men, a little goes a long way to help you look even better, as long as you know how to put it all together. 1. Say NO to “BLOUSY” shirts. If you've ever bought a shirt one size too big thinking it will make you look bigger, don't do it again, please! Anything that sags toward your bicep was built for someone with a bigger frame. The body of the shirt should skin your torso, not spill over the sides when it's tucked in. 2. Put the “IT” IN FIT. You might have the sharpest suit in the room, but if it doesn't t correctly, no one will notice. Make your tailor your best friend and your style game is sure to make the cut. 3. Press Your Dress Shirt When the Iron is steaming. Or just sprinkle water onto the fabric around the button seams and collar before you iron. Those are the spots you really need to press. If they're crisp, at, and smooth, you'll look good even if the back of your shirt is wrinkled. 4. Wear a tie, unexpectedly. Think of casual Friday as God's way of giving you an advantage over your colleagues, this is when a tie will make the most impact. Even in a casual setting, a tie is a safe choice, It sets you apart in the room; it inspires people and lets them know that you're a man who doesn't miss the details. 5. Don't forget to relax. There's something to be said for looking just right. There's also something to be said for looking slightly not right, as if you don't have time for such trivialities as perfecting yourself in front of a mirror when there's work to be done. BRAND DIGEST// by Tolu Yusuf1. The staff are keyIf you want people to believe in your brand and identify with yourvalues, then actions speak louder than words. Your staff's behaviour andattitudes have to reect the brand. Reward staff who live, breathe and promote yourbrand.2. Keep it freshYou should regularly review what people think of your business/ product and see if it's in linewith what you wanted. Which parts worked, which didn't? Also, keep a look out for trends asthis could lead to branding improvements.3. Consistency, consistency, consistencyMake sure everything that reaches a potential customer is consistent to your branding. Ifyou are pushing quality, don't have a bodgy website or shop front. If you have a bodgywebsite or shop front, don't go spending money on fancy adverts or yers to make up for it.Without consistency, the messages you're sending are confusing.4. Complaints are your friendCustomer complaints highlight areas where you can improve. Not only that, a dissatisedcustomer can turn into a loyal one if their complaint is resolved quickly and with minimum offuss. This sends a strong message that you live and die by your convictions (your brand) andthat the customer is at the centre of your universe. NUTRITION// Reasons You Should Eat Pawpaw By Fome OrakporIt is no more news that pawpaw is a beautify fruit which is very attractive in colour, either in light or deep orange. If not foranything the nursery rhymes 'pawpaw is a type of fruit' has informed us about the taste and the colour. We can rightfullyassume it's good for us. Do you know that the benets of eating pawpaw go far beyond the generic boost of vitamin C?Pawpaw which is also widely known as papaya is a must for our diet.Papaya Contains AntioxidantsOne of the benets of eating papaya is that it helps to reduce the risk of cancer. Papaya is a rich source of antioxidants thatthe body needs to ght against cancer-causing cells. Vitamin C, E and beta-carotenes are antioxidants that prevent all kindsof cancers. So adding a daily serving of papaya to your diet may lessen your risk of developing cancer as well as severalinfections.Papaya is used to Treat Digestive DisordersPapaya is a great source of proteolytic enzymes that are very important in digesting food. The most important of theseproteolytic enzymes found in papaya is papain. Papain breaks down proteins in food, allowing for better digestion. Papain isused in prescription of digestive enzymes to treat individuals with cystic brosis or pancreatic conditions; producing for themwhat the body cannot produce naturally. Eating papaya is also a benet because papain taken orally treats less seriousdigestion disorders such as bloating and chronic indigestion. In these cases papain is extracted, dried and sold as tablets.Papaya Boosts Male FertilityAnother great benet of papaya is to boost male fertility. Papaya contains an enzyme called arginine which is known in themedical community to boost blood ow around the male reproductive system. Arginine boosts nitric acid in the body torelax the muscles surrounding the blood vessels that supply the male organ. These blood vessels then dilate and increaseblood ow. A more concentrated form of arginine is used to treat erectile dysfunction.Papaya Prevents Premature AgingMany alternative medical practitioners believe that one of the benets of papaya is to control premature aging. Papayahelps the body to properly digest food and when the body digests all the nutrients it needs, the body will remain vital for along time.Papaya is used as a CleanserTaking of papaya and cucumber juice can be a benet to your colon. These juices work as potent natural cleansers whencombined. Papaya is also rich in ber, which travels through the body and binds itself to cancer-causing toxins in the colon. The ber in papaya ushes out the toxins in the colon and so one of the benets of papaya is that it helps prevent coloncancer especially, due to its antioxidants and its ber content.Papaya Prevents Heart Attacks and StrokesThe antioxidants in papaya prevent cholesterol from oxidizing. When cholesterol becomes oxidized it forms plaque in theblood vessel walls that can eventually build up and cause a heart attack or stroke. Also, ber is known to lower cholesterol. The ber in papaya converts a substance called homocysteine into harmless amino acids that the body can process, butwithout the breakdown, homocysteine can eventually damage blood vessel walls, causing strokes or heart attacks.Papaya Treats InammationPapain and chymopapain, protein-digestive enzymes found in papaya lowers inammation and improve healing from burns.Papain breaks down the inactive proteins in the skin, removing dead tissue from burns. BRAIN TEASERS// You could wait 27 days or youcould see it everyday. What is it?THE STALLION// THE IN-HOUSE MAGAZINE FOR MRS GROUP ANSWER The moon. Even though the true moon cycle is about 29.5 days, it takes 27 days, 7 hours, and 43 minutes for our Moon to complete one full orbit around Earth. Thus you can see the full moon every 27 days or you can moon yourself every day in the mirror. Not that you’d want to. Does anyone moon themselves? Can’t say as I’ve ever had the “pleasure”. 21

ALBUM REVIEW (NIGERIA)// Album - New Era Artiste - Kiss Daniel Producers- Beatburx, Masterkraft, Young Jonn, Jay Sleek, DJ Coublon, Kimz Beatz Record Label - G-Worldwide Entertainment (2016) Duration - 68 minutesKiss Daniel brings on the magic from the start, announcing his ascendancy in Nigerian music withthe thumping 'New King', before going on a long, heady, love-lled journey to win a girl's heart. Thesinger sticks to the subject which has been largely responsible for his success. The track album feelslike an emotional meandering through all the stages of love and romance, peppered withgratitude to God for success.Love shines through on the tropical 'Jombo', the ubiquitous 'Mama', the haunting 'Gobe' andmany others. There's happiness on 'Good time' and 'Laye', vacant spaces on 'Give into', and anAkon-esque burlesque feel on 'Kudi'. The best work on this album resides on 'Are you alright', animmersive, percussion heavy candy, as Kiss Daniel passionately deals with the relationshipbetween money and love, while 'Kiss me' gives up a longing that is paradoxically clingy and manlyin execution. The singer's vulnerabilities shine forth, as effortless songwriting make him shine.Versatility is also one of Kiss Daniel's strengths. There's a rattling dancehall patois on 'Sin City', whilethe clangy gong on 'Duro' combines with Kiss Daniel to bring out a delivery reminiscent of 9ice in hisprime. There's also the much crowded reective and thankful tracks about the struggle andsuccess. 'All God' is perhaps the most popping thanksgiving song that has ever been laid in astudio. 'Alone' employs cohesive live elements, while another day is morbidly satisfying.Even though a majority of songs do not fall at on their faces, the lack of external inuence ismissed. Sugarboy appears on three of the weakest tracks, with the choice of songs unattering tothe talents of Daniel's trusted label mate. A selective infusion of Hip-hop and dancehall acts wouldhave done wonders for 'New King' and 'Sin City'. Kisss Daniel is an insanely gifted act who possessesa wide range of delivery styles, and he utilizes this to stellar effects on the album, with each songpresenting a new vocal facet of the man. A 20-track album, this delivery works wonders to bypassthe law of diminishing returns, and where it fails, it is not too evident.Where Kiss Daniel scores his home run is in the songwriting of the album. “New Era” wins heavily inthat department, with very few holes in the lyrical composition of the LP. Production was limited toa very select crop of engineers who brought their most diverse sounds on it.THE STALLION// THE IN-HOUSE MAGAZINE FOR MRS GROUP 22
