Adaptation dd4005:creative thinking- (15c)

Introduction Introduction My project is about publishing and adapting a book into a different look. The published book I want to adapt is the Hunger Game series, mainly the first book. The way I want to adapt it is into a graphic novel For my graphic novel, I want to show the front cover of the first book which will draw the audience into the graphic novel, but also have an illustrated introduction page of all characters that have specific book description or have a specific role in the book. Another thing that I will be doing for my graphic novel is show a few pages of the comic to entice the audience to read on. This will be a main scene which will be recognisable to not only people that have read the book, but also will stand out to people that haven’t read that book, but will recognise it from a different media. For the age and audience, I feel that the age would be for teens and young adults, as that is the rough age the book is based on. I also feel that the graphic novel will help people who may not be able to read books because they may not like reading lots of text, or because they struggle with reading through conditions or learning disabilities, but also for people who just want to read it in a different way. I also want the graphic novel to be for all genders as the Hunger Games is for everyone. The colours I feel that I could use fo the graphic novel are: ● Earth tone ● Natural tone ● Neutral tones Second colours that could be used depend on what few page i pick are: ● Vibrate tone ● Grayscale tones But this will be a minimal tone mainly because the rest for the first tones will be seen more but this depends on what page I go for with both the cover and pages.

Introduction There is no general geological areas that I will need to look into apart from forest and urban places that are desolate. part 2 Another area that i will be looking into is river and stream areas, which will link to some of the areas that are mentioned in the book. There are some fictional geological places that do have a link to a real country the USA but this USA in the Hunger Games is a dystopian USA that has been through a lot of rough patch from mother nature. In this version of the USA, it has shrunk because of the sea levels rose up, with meant that a sizeable portion of the current USA is under water and because of this the country is split into fourteen different areas. They are then split between one city called that capitol, which rules over the rest of the areas. The other areas are called districts and not cities, these are areas that provide for the capitol. The districts don’t thrive as well as the capitol and tend to be poorer and treated unfairly by the capitol. Some of the districts are poorer than others, some get special treatment by the capitol, but not many. The districts and their industries are : ● District 1 - Luxurys ● District 2 - Masonry ● District 3 - Technology ● District 4 - Fishing ● District 5 - Power ● District 6 - Transportation ● District 7 - Lumber ● District 8 - Textiles ● District 9 - Grian ● District 10 - Livestock ● District 11 - Agriculture ● District 12 - Coal mining There was one more district that after a time called the dark days was destroyed and not heard for a very long time .This district was 13 - Graphite mining. Why are the district important, well because the also were punished for starting the dark days and to punish them for over 75 years they have have something called the Hunger Games each year. They choose 24 tributes each from the district made up of one boy and girl form the ages of 12 to 18, and only one tribute will make it out alive from the Hunger Games. Well, until the 74th Hunger Games where two tributes win. The main district we hear about is district 12 because that is where that main protagonist and deuteragonist live with their family. The main artist that I will be looking into for inspiration and for research into graphic novels will be Amrit Birdi. Amrit birdi is a graphic novel artist that i have known for over roughly 5 years due to comic con and for other course work that i have done in the past. And has been one of my idols when it comes to art. Another thing that i will be researching is Aphantasia and what it is and how it affects people with apantaisa. In the coming weeks there may be more artists that inspire my work but at the moment Amrit

Primary Research

Interview - Who was I trying interview? The person I really wanted to interview is a author named Suzanne Collins. She wrote the Hunger Game books and the prequel book called, The Songbird and the Snake. She has also published other books. Here is a link to some of her other works: https://www.bookseriesinorder.com/suzanne -collins/ Unfortunately I couldn’t find her email, so I had to email the company that she worked with to publish the Hunger Games books they are called Schooltastice.

Interview - What did I write to the person? Due to not being able to get in contact with Suzanne Collins directly, due to her not having her email out in public, I tried to contact the company that she worked with which was Scholastic in both the American and UK branch. To the side is the email I sent to them. I tried to make is very formal. I may not get anything back but if it the first step in trying, its is a good attempt and for all I know I might be able to get an interview with Suzanne Collins.

Interview - The replies back. Unfortunately, I was not able to get a interview with the author, but just emailing the editing company is a big step for me, because it shows that I can get out of my comfort zone. Even if it didn’t work, it's the effort that counts and I am happy that I tried a different option and contacted her editing company. It showed that I wouldn’t let a disappointment hold me back.

Questionnaire Statistics - Question 1 The first question was to do with how many of the book from this book series have the read. About 50% of people have not read any of the books About 16.7% have only read the first book About 16.7% have only the first two books Lastly about 16.7% have read all three books in the series The rest of the options are 0%

Questionnaire Statistics - Question 2 For question 2, I wanted to know who everyone's favorite character was : With the most votes was a split between two sections The first one is the main character, who we follow throughout the whole book. Katniss had about 33.3% as two people voted for Katniss. Not having a favorite character came second because two people voted for that. Two others got 1 vote each and therefore had the same percentage. Effie Trinket got 16.7% as she was voted for by one person. The last one was Primrose Everdeen which i'm surprised about. She only had one vote, so it came to 16.7 %. It surprised me because I thought she would have the most votes, but instead she one with the lowest vote.

Questionnaire Statistics - Question 3 For this question, I wanted to know who was the least favorite character : The one that got the most votes was President Snow with 2 votes. I know this does not sound a lot but this was done only had 6 responses, so the votes split up into 6 that why some of the votes have the same percentage and with this one it was 33.3% For the rest it was a tie between four different characters with a vote of one for each which are: President Coin - 1 vote - 16.7% Darius - 1 vote - 16.7% Doesn’t remember the books - 1 vote - 16.7% Peeta - 1 vote - 16.7%

Questionnaire Statistics - Question 4 This question was to see which one is seen the most in media and what people have seen or read the most. The movie had the most votes on the bar chart with over 3 votes and a percentage of 50% which mean the people have seen the movie more than the books. The one to have second most votes was just reading the book which had 2 votes and a percentage of 33.3%, which mean the book may not be seen as much than the movies. The one with the least votes for the bar chart is only one vote for reading and also watching the The Hunger Games in both types of media.

Questionnaire Statistics - Question 5 Question five, I wanted to see if the people liked the first book and see what their last emotion was with first book as well. For the most votes it was a tie between : “Slow” - 2 votes - 33.3% - which i thought was crazy to see, but this is my peers answers. The second one with the most votes “incredible” - 2 votes - 33.3% The one with the least votes is a tie between : “boring” - 1 vote - 16.7%, one person found the first book to be boring which is their opinion. And the second one was they have read the first book and may not know what is going on and not know what their emotion might be .

Questionnaire Statistics - Question 6 With question six, I wanted to see if the people liked the second book and see what their last emotion with second book as well. The most vote it was : “Slow” - 3 votes - 50%- which also i thought was crazy to see but once again this is my peers answered. The second one with the middle amount of votes was “I don’t know” - 2 votes - 33.3% the one with the least vote was “Boring” - 1 vote - 16.7% same with the first book one person found the second book boring but once again this is my peers opinion on the book.

Questionnaire Statistics - Question 7 Question 7 is the same as the last two, but with the last book of the series. I wanted to see if the people like the last and see what their last emotion with final book as well. The results are exactly the same as the second book question with it being: “Slow” - 3 votes - 50%- which i obviously do not agree with. Second one with the middle amount of votes was “I don’t know” - 2 votes - 33.3% The one with the least vote is “Boring” - 1 vote - 16.7% For me I also did struggle with this book as it was a book with a very dark plot to and has a very dark mood to it.

Questionnaire Statistics - Question 8 With question eight, I wanted to switch it up and I wanted to see what people overall feeling that they had to this book series. Most of the people who answered had either not read the book so couldn’t answer and others either really liked the first book and some really like the whole series and really enjoyed it My answer would be that I really liked all 3 books, but I really liked the first and second book more than the 3rd and final book.

Questionnaire Statistics - Question 9 With the ninth question, I wanted to see which Hunger Games year people liked the most and all the results were tied. The 74th Hunger Game - 1 vote - 16.7% They didn’t know there were years - 1 vote- 16.7% The 75th Hunger Guarter Quell - 1 vote - 16.7 % They don’t remember - 1 vote - 16.7% None - 1 vote - 16.7% 76th Hunger Games - 1 vote - 16.7% This was one of the question I didn’t think would be a tie as I thought that a lot of people would have known the difference between the years and therefore would have a favorite.

Questionnaire Statistics - Question 10 The second to last question I wanted to see who has read the prequel book. The result would very intriguing to look at. Most people haven’t read the prequel book, including me as I was only able to get through the first few pages, but this was due to how the small the writing is which does not help when you have Dyslexia, but for other people they probably didn’t know that there was even a prequel book. The votes were : No - 5 votes - 83.3 % and least votes Yes - 1 vote - 16.7%

Questionnaire Statistics - Question 11 The last question was more for me for feedback on how well i did when making the questionnaire. The votes were : Good - 5 votes - 83.3% Needs improvement - 1 vote - 16.7% For me I feel that their was a bit of improvement that I could do if i make another questionnaire for the next project or here. But other than that thank you to the people who have partisapted in the questionnaire. The answers have help me to to think how I can make my graphic novel more interesting and how I can get more people to read the Hunger Games.

Section 1 of my survey Here are the results from the first section of my survey. This was mainly to see if people know about Aphantasia and also if people know someone that has Aphantasia and is affected by it. I also wanted to see if there is anyone who has Aphantasia and how severe people have it. I also put a link so that if people don’t know what Aphatisasa is or think that it effects them or someone they know. I also put a small description about it. The results of the survey were : No - 5 votes- with a percentage of 55.6% Yes - 4 votes - with a percentage of 44.4% Maybe - 0 votes - with persenge of 0.00% This means that Aphantasia is not well knows about and this is interesting to learn about and a shame. The second question results were : No - sixs votes - with the percentage of % Nope - 1 vote - with the percentage of 11.1% Yes - 1 vote - with a percentage of 11.1% (this is tea ) One of my friend has it - 1 vote - 11. 1% This question was to help me see if there is anyone who knows someone with Aphantasia. For the final question of this section the votes were : One person (Tea) has Aphantasia and can’t picture anything in their head. It was also worrying to hear that people didn’t believe them when they said this as they had never had it themselves. The rest of the people who took the survey said no, but there was one person who thought that it was a video game, which it isn’t.

The second section of the survey There was only one person with Aphantasia but for the last question a few people without Aphantasia decided to answer as well which I think is really cool.

Section 3 - The last section With this section I wanted to see what people thoughts were on Aphantasia and if there should be more awareness for it. 2 people said that there should be more awareness of Aphantasia as one person said that people may not know if they had Aphantasia. Another person also asked how people test for Aphantasia, which I think is a really good question, since at first I didn’t know much about Aphantasia until I had researched into it more. Here is the link to one of the tests that you can do, but if you think you have Aphantasia, you should check with your doctor full a test. https://aphantasia.com/vviq/ Also thank you to the people who took part in my survey. This showed me that my adaption of the Hunger Games will help people with Aphantasia to enjoy the series. This is because the graphics will help them picture the story.

Book Review Author : Suzanne Collins Title : The Hunger Games Year Of Release : 2008 Rating: 5/5 What is the book about ? The Hunger Games, are a fight to the death between 12 districts which consist of one male and one female from each district and only one will be alive in the end and will be crowned victor. The book is about is about a sixteen year old girl who volunteered to take her sisters place in the games. She is also accompanied by the male tribute called Peeta Melark, who in the past had helped Katniss in a time of need when her family were struggling with starvation. Peeta deliberately burna breads so that he can give the bread to Katniss. She struggles in the games, but because of her survival skills helping her to survive and later when the gamemakers change the rules so that two tributes from the same district can win the games Katniss desperately tries to find Peeta and when she does find him , she finds that he is badly injured by another tribute called Cato. In the end it's a battle for who going to be victor and it come down to Katniss decision to kill Cato and let Peeta fall because Cato is holding him in a headlock and is slow cutting Peeta air way or let Cato kill Peeta and Katniss but she doesn’t have to choose Peeta with his own blood starts to drawing an X on Cato’s hand to tell Katniss to shoot Cato hand. Katniss then shoots Cato in the hand which makes Cato loosen his grip on Peeta and this gives Peeta time to smack into Cato who loses his balance on top of the connacopia and fall into the pack of tribute mutts which starts to tear Cato apart at the same time as Cato falls Peeta lose balance because of his wound that is on his leg. Katniss lunges forward and catches peeta before he falls into the pack of mutts. Lastly the Gamemakers change the rule back to only one victor and both Katniss and Peeta start arguing on who will win until Katniss grabs nightlock berries which are poisonous and says that the gamemaker won’t have one victor and won’t have any victors at all and at the last minute the gamemakers change their mind and allow Katniss and Peeta to be victor together. The last part of the book Katniss is told that the berry stunt that she pulled makes the capitol look weak and this is not good for Katniss and Peeta this then leads to the next book. What was your favourite part of the book ? My favourite part of the book is when Katniss finds Peeta and starts to take care of him too. It shows that Katniss does care for Peeta especially as before Katniss fought that Peeta was her enemy. Another one of my favourite parts is when Katniss meets her stylist Cinna as Katniss states ‘ I'm taken aback by how normal he looks. She also states ‘most of the stylists they interview on television are so dyed ,stencilled and surgically altered they are grotesque. I really like how I can picture how Cinna look and picture what the other capitol citizens look like.

Who is your favourite character? My favourite character is Peeta. Peeta is an extremely kind and generous character who loves Katniss and will do anything for her in this book. He is also a selfless character who will defend and also reason with other characters. In the other books Peeta does become more mature, but also does have a lot of trauma that is used to hurt him in the third book to stop the person he love, but other than that I feel like Peeta has good character development, Would you recommend this book to others? Yes I would recommend this book to others mainly because it is a wonderful start to a book series that becomes more and more amazing as the book series progresses. I feel that this book would be good for anyone from that age of 11 and up as this book does have some dark moments and talks of death and more but other than that the book is really brilliant to read. Who do you recommend this book to? I would recommend it to anyone who likes action and distoptian types of books, but also loves to read books with a female protagonist. I feel that book is for 11 to 25 mainly because sometimes there can be very dark thoughts and action that could affect kids under the age of 11 especially in the last book of this series as the story becomes darker. Overall how did you enjoy the book? I really enjoyed the first Hunger Games book as I feel that it's a great introduction to the world of the Hunger Games and the character and helps make bonds with your faction characters. I think that's why i loved reading this book as you get to feel what the characters feel and you almost feel like you have been transported into the book Overall I would highly recommend it to people who want a breathtaking read and as well there are 2 more books after the first one and as well a prequel book that explains the world in a different era called the dark days. Thank you for reading my book review

Moodboard 1 - Katniss Everdeen This moodboard is to show the main character that we see through the book and we follow her throughout the book. I also wanted to show her style and atheistic. The colour tones for Katniss are very earthy tones and if there is any colour, it is only a tiny amount of orange.

Moodboard 2 - Peeta Maleark This moodboard is to show the second main character which we see through the eyes of the main character Katniss. I also wanted to show his style and aesthetic and how I see him though the description we get in the book. The colour tones for Peeta are very earthy tones and different shades of blue which are muted or soft colours.

Moodboard 3 - Aesthetics of the book This moodboard I wanted to show the aesthetics of the book and what i think is the aesthetics of the book The colour theme that I used in this mood board has a rather good complement of colour that I feel fits with the theme of the book. The themes are earthy tones, but also warm tones that also contrast the two main characters.

Moodboard 4 - World of the Hunger Games With this moodboard I wanted to show the world of the hunger games and some of the key areas that are described in the book and what I think they look like in my mind. The colour themes that had found have a similar colour theme of very muted colours and earth tones, mainly due to most of the book being based outside. The only section that has less dull and earthy tone is the capital section. The Arena and Cave colour theme District 12 colour theme The Capitol colour theme

Spider Diagram-Different media of the Hunger Games. All credits are under the photos. I have made sure to credit all the artist if I could. I wanted to show all the different aspects of the Hunger Games and who it so popular through the community With the spider diagram I wanted to show : Other artists art work and their work of Katniss and Peeta that i really like and gave me inspiration. The art work done by someone called ‘Little Lynx’. Their artwork is how I picture the characters and this artwork has definitely helped with my inspiration. Another thing I wanted to show, was how other people see all the characters from other people's perspective. The credits for some of the work has been cut off or are on the artwork. The next section is to do with the books and what they look like in both the UK and USA and the difference between them with both versions. The last section shows what inspired me to make a graphic novel and because I have always had a passion for graphic novels in the past. All the things on the spidergram are to help with inspiration.

Research - graphic novels Graphic novels originate back in the 1920’s, but this was just comic stories and comic were seen more back in the 20s. As the decade went on people started to create novels like comic strips and in the 70s was when the graphic novel came to light. The meaning of a graphic novel is ‘a novel in comic format ‘ As the decades have gone on, graphic novels have evolved, as a lot of well known book have been adapted into graphic novels. An example of this is the Percy Jackson books ,all six books were turned into graphic novels. Each graphic novel was illustrated by different artists. This is seen with most of the graphic novel, mainly due to the artist being only contacted to do one graphic, but some time artist stay one to do the rest of the graphic novel but with the Percy Jackson graphic novel each artist were contracted to do one graphic novel of the series. Most of the graphic novels we see today are usually based for kids and young adults and the kids and young adult of millennials and Gen Z have have grown up with graphic novel. Graphic novels have developed from being traditionally made, to digitally made as technology which has evolved throughout the years.

Hunger Games - Books 1 and a small synopsis The Hunger Games was created by a lovely author called Suzanne Collins. She got the idea whilst watching something on TV and as she flipped the TV to a game show she got the idea of the Hunger Games by the channel and came up with a world where kids every year are picked to compete in a arena for their lives and only one can survive. The book is about a girl who is looking out for her family due to her father not being there anymore to look after her and her sister and the struggle when her sister is picked for the arena and the girl volunteers to go instead of her smaller sister, but this just start a whole chain of events that she doesn’t know about until later books. Their mother is not in the right state of mind at the beginning of the book, as she has just started to live again and is trying to be a mother to Katniss and Prim. But Katniss doesn’t let that slide and is still mad at her mother, so she keeps being rude to her mother until after the reaping. (The reaping is when they pick names out of a bowl for the tributes). Katniss’s sister is reaped for the Hunger Games but Katniss doesn’t what her sister to see her sister die and volunteers instead and this starts the rest of the book where Katniss is trained and then thrown into the games and struggles to survive, but finds a way to live until she has to team up with the boy in her district that she thought was her enemy due to the stunt he did in the interviews and betray in the arena but she doesn’t know that Peeta the boy from her district loves her and was trying to save her in a strange way, which proves to help them in the end after they have a fight/ stand of with the last remaining tribute in which Katniss shoots at the other tributes hand to save Peeta. But it doesn't end there, they are told that they there can only be one victor and Peeta tries to get Katniss to win by killing him, but Katniss won’t let him and wants them to both win, so instead they decide to lose together by eating poisoned berries, but this is stopped by the gamemaker and they let them both win. However there are consequences that is seen for the next 2 books by this decision. As the books go on they get darker and darker but this because in the last book there a lot of sad scenes.

Artist Research – Amrit Birdi Amrit Birdi is an artist that's work ranges from illustration for Netflix, Disney, Ubisoft and more. He has created artwork for loads of different graphic novels, some graphic novels he has work on are : Username:evie saga which was a graphic novel that was written by youtuber called Joe Sugg that Amrit Birdi had done all of the illustration for Username:Evie saga this graphic novels were what got me interested in to amrit art style. Another graphic novel done the illustration that armit has done is for Alex Rider graphic novels that were made after and based on the books. Amrit did all the illustration for the Alex Rider graphic novel, Ark Angel. His art style is very unique that if you picked up one of the graphic novel that Amrit Birdi has done you would easy recognise that armiti has done the illustration. He is one of the artists that has heavily inspired my work for this project with how he creates his graphic novels. I really like Amrit Birdi artwork and artists use colour to make his work very realistic and it has inspired me alot when it comes to drawing. Amrit and I both follow each other on Instagram. I have also had a interview with him about how he got into his job and why. I have roughly know him for 6 years now as when he first met me I was only 13/14 and now I am 20 years old and am doing a degree in concept art for games and film. A quote that I always think of when doing work is that if you flip the artwork to it back and you can see the same as the front of the page you know that you have done a good job. Amrit did this with my drawing. This advice has always stayed with me even 6 years on which is amazing an i have always appreciated.

Research The definition of Aphantasia is the inability to visualise into this mean that people with aphantasia can’t create any Aphantasia pictures of a familiar object ,people or places in their minds. In extreme cases there’s no thoughts, no memories or imagining the future. This means when people are reading books they can’t picture the story in their head, this can sometimes make the book less interesting because you can’t picture what the characters look like and what there doing. Sometimes people will just power through this and still read the book. But when you are a kid around 11 years old you want to use your imagination but if you are kid with Aphantasia you can picture the world your reading and this can be frustrating to a kid. How does this affected someone everyday? The main things that people with Aphantasia struggle with throughout their lives are: • Struggling to remember or relive life events • Have a hard time imagining the future or hypothetical events • Having problems with your factual memory • Dreamless sleep There is a test on Aphantasia here is an example For more information from people who are specialists, please look at these links for more info. https://www.verywellmind.com/aphantasia-overview-4178710 and https://aphantasia.com/what-is-aphantasia/

Strengths : 1. I have read tons of graphic novels 2. I have created a graphic novel pages for a previous project 3. Creating mood boards and spider diagram to show my work Weaknesses : 1. My time on work, I sometimes spend to long on a piece of work that should only take me an hour 2. Organisation, I have all the ideas, but just can’t organise it well. (I did talk to Jodie who is good at organising things and that help me but I have a way to go) 3. Creating a Wix site, I struggled to sectioning it out Opportunities : 1. To create a full version of the graphic novel 2. To talk to some other concept artist and graphic novel artists 3. To show a book I love in a new way Threats : 1. I have dyslexia, it a threat because of my poor organisational skills and recalling information 2. My scratch disk on my computer, which I will sort out 3. Making sure that I have everything in the project powerpoint and Wix

the final outcomes

My first ideas for my character introduction page sketch ups I wanted to create an introduction page for my graphic novel and I was going to have all of the characters, with character descriptions. At first I wanted to do it without references and wanted to show them in a cartoon style, but during the development stages of drawing the character I felt that the art style and the amount of characters would have been to much and would make the introduction page to crowded and so because of this some of my drawings that were going to be on it got scraped. I still wanted to show these drawing to help show how much I improved when I start creating my full introduction page.

The character drawing that I went for For the final introduction page I decided to change how I wanted to do it and just wanted to show the two main characters and if I was to create the next two books into a graphic novel series, I would make the introductions with two new characters and so on, with the last book in the series. With this one for the graphic novel I wanted to show the two main characters and how I see them in my mind form the book descriptions. I feel that the character designs that I went for in with character description is quite accurate, with some of my own flare, which is mainly seen in the hair and clothes. I also decided that I wanted to make the introduction page more into an illustrated piece that is seen to give the graphic novel more artistic aspect.

The character drawings close up

What inspired my Picture will be incerted I character page and why. just need to scan the image in My inspiration for the character page is a strange one. I got inspired by the characters illustration found on the inside of the Doctor Who fifth season DVD box set. It showed the two main character and their foes they battle with during the series. I thought this was really cool. I wanted to come up with my own ideas similar to that, with illustrated drawing of Katniss and Peeta. Things that would be symbolic for Katniss and Peeta like their favorites colours or an item of their first meeting. This would be the bread that Peeta burned for Katniss or the MockingJay pin Katniss has. These are just ideas that I could use for my graphic novel illusion page.

The Background aspects of character page For that background of the illustration page I wanted the background to have Katniss’s favorite colour which is Green and also show Peeta’s favourite colour, which is Orange. I really like how I made it look like paint splatter, with both of the colour merging together. The next thing that I put on top of the of the background was two key items that are symbolic to both main characters. The image on the left, I created a drawing of the bread Peeta burnt to give to Katniss, which is a key part to their past that help them through the book. The drawing on the right is of the MockingJay pin that Katniss got from that mayor of district 12’s daughter. How wanted to give Katniss the MockingJay pin, but also it is a key part for the development of the book series and starts everything after the first games. But also because this is symbolic to Katniss.

What I went for in the end for the character page and why When everything is put together, i wanted to make sure the drawing behind Peeta and Katniss matches up to each of them, with the burnt bread behind Peeta and the pin behind Katniss. I feel that this really draws you into the illustration. With the name tags, I wanted to show their names and their age and with the font, I wanted to make the colour of the font the be the same as their favourite colour and with this only people who have watched the movie or read the book will get it at first. I really like that I made it into a Easter egg. Overall, I really like the illustration I created, as it really helps to bring you in to the graphic novel and get you to read on and see the two characters in action.

The 2 different logos I thought of With the two logos, I wanted to show them in two different ways, from in both text style and in and design of the text with the top one looking like fire is bursting out of it and with the second one looking like shining gold to match the symbol to the side which I think fits really well and to show this I will try it on all version of my font cover. I really like both, but the one I that i really liked is the one that shows the fire, as it fits the theme that I am going for, as fire is one of the aspects of the book with Katniss being named the girl on fire.

ideas for front cover of graphic novel. When creating the front of my graphic novel, I tried three different looks from the : Makark bakery which shows a bit of district 12 and hint to one of the characters you see in the book and use a bit of perspective. The second idea was to do with the arena and the cave that Peeta and Katniss camp out in when Peeta was injured. I felt that this one fit with the mood as this would be seen it the graphic novel, but in a different view I feel that it ties in with the graphic novel a it draws you into what might happen in the story. with the last design, I wanted to create a design that showed Katniss and also foreshadow things, whilst also having the symbols of the MockingJay which is seen on Katniss’s pin.
