What is the school day bell schedule (what time does my child have to be at school and what time can I pick them up)? Students must be in class by 7:35. Dismissal begins at 2:50. What does morning drop off look like? Parents are welcome to drop students off curbside, in front of the school. Staff will help with unloading. Parents are also welcome to walk their child to class after first checking in at the front desk. Can I walk my child to their room? After checking in at the front desk, parents are welcome to walk their child to class during the first nine week period. Parents are encouraged to allow students to walk to class independently beginning the second nine weeks. What does afternoon pick up look like? We offer the following options for pick up: - Bus Rider - Students who qualify for bus transportation will be escorted to their assigned bus by a staff member. - Parent Pick Up - Parents will park and walk up to the East entrance to pick up their child. - Car Rider- Parents will pick up curbside in front of the school. - Olympia Hills - students enrolled in this afterschool program will be escorted to location by staff member. - Extend a Care - students enrolled in this afterschool program will be escorted to location by staff member. - Walkers - A staff member will walk students to street of neighborhood. We recommend that an adult meet the child and walk them home. Staff members are not responsible for walking students home. How do I pick my child up from school? Parent pick up and car riders will need to have their pick up sheet issued by the school with their child’s name daily. If you need another please see front office. If you need to change the way your child gets home, you must submit a “Transportation Change” no later than 1:00 pm. Can I pick up my child early from school? What do I need to do? Where do I need to go? What do I need to have with me when I pick my child up? You may pick up your child early for emergency purposes. You must first check into the front office using your I.D. Office staff will then call your child’s teacher and ask them to release your child. Anyone picking up your child must be listed on the student registration form. Can I have lunch with my child? Can I bring food to school to share with him/her? You are welcome to have lunch with your child. You are allowed to bring outside food for your child only. Food sharing is not allowed due to allergies and special diets. How much does lunch cost? Can I send my child with a lunch box? The cost for lunch is as follows: Paid Lunch=$2.40. Reduced Lunch= $0.40. It is encouraged that all families apply for Free Lunch Benefits. Is there a snack time built into the day? Yes. Parents are asked to provide snacks to be shared among the children. Am I allowed to bring snacks for my child’s birthday? Can I throw a party for him with his classmates? Birthday snacks are allowed the last 15 minutes of the day. Birthday treats are not allowed to be shared during lunch. Is there childcare after school? Yes. We offer Extend a Care and Olympia Hills after school care. What opportunities will there be to help out in my child’s classroom? Each teacher has various opportunities for you volunteer in the classroom. More information will be available from your child’s teacher. Is there a rest time built into the day? The district does not allot for rest time in our kindergarten schedule.

Pueden dejar a su estudiante enfrente de la escuela y un miembro de la facultad los ayudará a bajar del carro y entrar a la escuela. Si puede encaminar a su estudiante al salón las primeras nueve semanas. 3. ¿Puedo encaminar a mi estudiante al salón? Si puede encaminar a su estudiante al salón. Pero después de las primeras 9 semanas de escuela, les sugerimos que permitan que caminen solos. 4. ¿Que pasa a la hora de la salida de clases? Los estudiantes serán recogidos de acuerdo a el transporte que usted a designado. Los estudiantes que van por carro estaran listos enfrente de la escuela. Los que caminan serán llevados por una maestra a cruzar la calle hacia su vecindad, favor de tener un adulto listo para encaminar a su estudiante. Los padres que se estacionan, pueden pasar al lado este de la escuela para recoger a su estudiante. Los estudiantes de “Extend-a-Care” irán a la cafetería. Los que suben al camión serán llevados a los camiones por la maestra. “Olympia Hills” son llevados a esa locación por un miembro de la facultad. 5. Cambio de transportación: Si necesita cambiar el transporte de su estudiante, favor de mandar una nota o llamar a la oficina antes de la 1:00pm. 6. ¿Puede recoger a mis estudiante temprano? ¿Qué necesito traer, hacia donde me dirijo para recoger al estudiante? El estudiante puede ser sacado de clase antes de la salida. Necesita traer su identificación y tener permiso de recoger al estudiante. Tiene que pasar por la oficina para sacar al estudiante de clase. 7. ¿Puedo comer con mi estudiante? ¿Puedo traer comida? Si, si puede solo necesita pasa por la oficina para registrar su ingreso a la escuela. 8. ¿Cuanto cuesta la comida? ¿Puedo mandar a mi estudiante con lonche? El costo de la comida de $2.40 costo regular, $.40 costo reducido Si, su estudiante puede traer su lonche de casa. Favor de no compartir comida. 9. ¿Tienen horario para merienda durante el dia? Showing up for school has a huge impact on a student’s academic success starting in kindergarten and continuing through high school. There is a strong connection between student attendance and academic performance. Therefore, when students miss class, they miss out on learning. Compulsory School Texas law requires that all children at least 6 years of Attendance Texas age and not yet 19 shall attend school.
