Even if you choose to take the funicular instead (it wouldnot be a bad idea either), you could any time go and chase the cute squirrels living in theneighboring trees. They seem to love candy and crackers but are still quite timid to acceptdirect contact with their admirers. The huge Rose Park on Petřín Hill is a great place to spendan unforgettable afternoon or evening in a quiet and beautiful atmosphere. The Rose Park isunfortunately limited by the climate in Prague that is by the colder season. Even so, winteroffers its own attractions: play in the soft snow or walk along the frozen, white alleys. Even theair is different in the winter: it’s clearer, fresh and will put our kids’ blood circle faster. Spring, summer and autumn have their charm of course: the combinations of colors are simplyunforgettable. A park remains a park and has its ways of looking beautiful and mysterious inevery season. Other things to see on Petřín: Mirror Labyrinth, the Planetarium, the Rose Park. 38

Detsky Ostrov PlaygroundDetsky Ostrov translates literally as Children’s Island. It is a perfect place that you nevermanage to leave on time. Despite the playground being on an island, it is completely fenced-in, safely separating the children from the water, while the nearby river provides a refreshingbreeze in the hot summer months. There is a stone sink with a tap to drink water from whenyou get thirsty, a small pool with a fountain where all the kids dip their feet (and not only that). There are two parts to the playground. The first is full of a wide range of attractions for youngerkids such as slides: big and small, a carousel, sand pits-always equipped with spades andbuckets and variety of swings. The second part contains courts for volleyball, tennis, petaqueand basic skateboard jumps.http://www.kidsinprague.com/post/dtsk-ostrov-playground-prague-5/ 39
