MaRRs Spell Bee Learning a language is the foremost step in the life of a child as it helps him/her to communicate with the world and a school plays a vital role to train the child in this direction. The Spell Bee Competition incorporated with MaRRs Spell Bee Interna- tional which was held at Dunes International School aimed at creating awareness of the possibilities of using varied words in oral and written expression and to add words to the active vocabulary of students. The competition was organized for classes KG to Grade 5 and it comprised dictation, choose correct spelling and frame sentences and primary colours. The objective of the competition was to en- hance the spelling and literary skills of children by encouraging them to explore the English language, expand their vocabulary and improve their communication and comprehension skills. This helps students to improve spelling, vocabulary, learning concepts and pronunciation. It is also an endeavor to keep pace with technology, the demand of new age.

ASSET (Assessment of Scholastic Skills through Educational Testing) is Asia’s largest skill-based diagnostic and benchmarking test. Rather than testing rote learning, it uses multiple-choice ques- tions to focus on measuring how well SKILLS and CONCEPTS underlying the school syllabus have been understood by the student. Apart from giving information about where the student, the class or the school stands as compared to their peers in the country and internationally, the test pro- vides information on the strengths and weaknesses of individual students and also entire class. Dunes International School organized Math ans English ASSET for the grades of 3 to 5 on 15th and 16th January 2020. With ASSET, students can gauge the limits of their capabilities and understand the kind of educational challenges they can take.

“Every accomplishment starts with the decision to try” The ‘Kint-a-thon’ was an initiative by the UAE women aimed at breaking the Guiness World Record for the world’s largest blanket and setting an unprecedent- ed record for the maximum knitted hearts to be dismantled and distributed to 3200 underprivileged children worldwide. Dunes International School contributed immensely to this noble cause at making the initiative a GUINESS WORLD REC- ORD for the maximum knitted hearts with 3200 blankets totaling 3100sqm. The school would like to thank the whole hearted contribution of the parents, students and staff in making it happened. All the participants were felicitated. Johann of grade 4C and Irene of grade 4B was also felicitated for getting blue belt in karate.

Science Classroom Discussion Discussion methods are a variety of forums for open-ended, collaborative exchange of ideas among a teacher and students or among stu- dents for the purpose of furthering students thinking, learning, problem solving, understand- ing, or literary appreciation. Students were able to analyze and solve Asset sample questions after discussing with teacher and students.

Hindi TRADITIONAL DANCE FORM OF INDIA. Dances are a form of coherent expression of human feelings. There are numerous classical dance forms in India and innumerable folk dances. Each dance form can be traced to different parts of the country. Each form represents the culture and ethos of a particular region or a group of people. Students were divided in 4 groups. They gathered the pictures of different dance forms such as- Bharatnatyam, Kathak, Kathakali, Kuchipudi, Manipuri, Mohiniattam and Odissi. Each group shared the information about the dance form of allotted states. This activity helped them to know about Indian culture.

ENGLISH Diary entry A diary entry is a small day-to-day account of our life in a diary or a journal, preferably a personal one. Maintaining a diary is generally a very good habit. One can always check facts looking back, remember events, find an outlet and effectively document one’s life this way. Some people even name their diaries and address them like an imaginary friend. Grade 4 children written diary entry as a writing activity. Which comprises of the day’s date, a salutation to their diary, a description of the day, and ends with their names.

SOCIAL STUDIES Students explore the use of electric cars, hyperloop, flying taxi, a rocket, Bullet train in India, UAE and around the world.
