A picture description is an ideal way of practicing our vocabulary in all sorts of fields. ENGLISH “Writing is nothing more than a guided dream” The brain is wider than the sky. Our power of imagination can do wonders in creating memorable pieces of work, be it music, art or literature. Richard Bach once said, “A professional writer is an amateur who did not quit.” Stories are wonderful pieces of prose that enable us to make sense of our world and pass on knowledge and values to ourselves, as well as the future generations. Keeping this in mind, Writers’ Hub Competition was conducted to imbibe the creative spirit among the young buds and to foster the develop- ment and love of creative writing. The objective of this activity was to empower students to predispose them- selves towards writing and literature in an era where social media dominates, aspiring to ignite this creative spark in the students. It was an endeavor to direct stu- dents towards the creative path of writing and active expression through the medium of written storytelling. The students had to write a scene or story in which the characters travelled out of the book into today. They got an opportunity to exhibit their critical thinking skills and, at the same time, developed their inherent crea- tivity. This activity has created a zeal for writing among the students and have given birth to many young writ- ers. The students were successful in creating some mas- terpieces.

COUNCELLOR’S DESK Students often procrastinate and as a parent it can be frustrating. We tend to struggle with our child not completing his or her homework and assignments. Help your child improve his or her study skills by focusing on the learning pro- cess—not just his or her grades. Getting a good grade is the goal, but it is good study skills that will help your child achieve it. Encourage active thinking and critical problem-solving skills by talking through any challenges your child is facing with their homework or assignments and working out a solution to- gether. Helping students improve their learning skills and develop motivation for their work are the keys to helping students complete homework and as- signments on time, reduce school stress, and put an end to procrastination for good.
