Dunes International School is extremely proud to felicitate the winners of the Ken-Ken exam conduct- ed in the academic year 2018-2019, who put in sincere efforts to achieve their set target with complete dedication and persis- tence . Shivani Mohan of grade 3C secured gold medal and Bhavya Manigandan of grade 4C. high –achiever with silver medal were honored in the special assembly. Students who se- cured silver and bronze medals were also felicitated on the oc- casion. Excitement and applause were at an all-time high for the students cheering and supporting the inspiring geniuses on stage. The winning students were awarded with medals and cer- tificates by our Head Primary– Madam Manjeet to encourage and further motivate them. Special mention for Samiya Suresh who se- cured second place in light music

An awareness of the deadly spreading epidemic of ‘Coronavirus’ was conducted on 4th of February 2020 by Dr. Sajeev Nair, a prominent physician at LLH hospital. The session threw light on the different aspects from the intial symptoms, origin, curing steps to the essential pre- cautionary measures to be taken leading to the spread of this virulent disease. Students were made aware of the precautionary measures to prevent from being affected and how to keep themselves clean especially when they come in contact with others. The session was informative and students were given opportunity to clear their doubts. A short Power point Presentation was displayed in all classes which high- lighted the importance of personal hygiene as a measure to prevent the spread of the epidemic.

Area and perimeter are mathematical calcula- tions that help us in the real world. For any kind of gardening around a structure, we need to measure the inside perimeter, calculate the outside perimeter and then figure out how many plants are required per meter based on size of plants. Using the same concept they learned and how they can implement in their real life. So students have taken to the ground they measured the school’s football, basketball, cricket ground and garden. They found the measurement, area and perime- ter of that .

Properties of Matter (Molecular Arrange- ment) Objects that take up space and have mass are called matter. Everything around us are made up of matter. All matter is the same because all matter is made up of atoms. Matter is also different because ob- jects can be made up of different kinds of atoms. The measurement of mass and other characteristics that can be seen without changing how that object looks are its physi- cal properties, whereas Chemical properties are properties that can only be observed by changing the identity of the substance. In a solid, molecules are packed together, and it keeps its shape. Liquids take the shape of the container. Gases spread out to fill the container. Students were able to draw the molecular arrangement of three states of matter (solid, liquid and gas). They al- so differentiated it with its physical proper- ties.

Au Travail The French students were very curious to know the various professions in French and also imagined themselves in the profession they aspire. The students were very enthusiastic to say their ambition in French.<< Je veux etre une professeur >>. This activity motivated the students to use the learning language in day to day life. These speaking activities help the students to explore the language and its uses in a most effec- tive way.

Creative Activity: Postal Services Make an Envelope and design a greeting card and paste a postal stamp so that you can send a greeting card to your near and dear ones Birthday! Through this activity students learned how to make an envelope, greeting card and the simple procedure of writing address and post the card with Birthday wishes. These cards with Colorful en- velopes will make great gifts to friends and family. The cards in this list range from simple print, fold and cut cards to pop-up cards, from birthday cards. Kids planned themselves to send special wishes to the people with speaking difficulties on their Birthdays.

“Art is an expression of internal imagination” – Vincent Vangog 3D painting is a type of painting that plays with perspec- tives, it's a distorted projection that lets the viewer think that something is actually in 3D, while it's painted on a flat surface. It was a day where students’ creativity exploded in eve- ry piece of art. It was a wonderful opportunity to think out of the box and develop their artistic skills .Students showed a great enthusiasm and artistic spirit. The stu- dents displayed their vivid ideas and learned more by interacting with others.

Dancing and learning to dance, and inspiring and teaching others to dance.
