“School bells are ringing loud and clear, vacations over, school is here”. The students were back in school after a long winter break. They were thrilled, excited and raring to go! The assembly was teeming with a wave of enthusiasm . The students had come back fresh, reenergized, well rested and full of excited stories of their vacation. A welcome assembly was con- ducted by the school teachers to welcome children after vacation, and boosted the morale of our budding blooms. The teachers presented a skit based on emotional health which is an important part of overall health. People who are emotionally healthy are in control of their thoughts, feelings, and behaviours. They are able to cope with life's challenges. They can keep problems in perspective and bounce back from setbacks. All the students were energized to be a part of it.

To accomplish great things we must not only act, but also dream; not only plan, but also believe. Dunes International School is extremely proud and overwhelmed as our blessed tal- ent of Grade 10 Master Sai Rohan is be- stowed with The Global Child Prodigy Award 2020 by the Nobel Laureate Shri Kailash Satyarthi and Dr. Kiran Bedi dur- ing Global Prodigy Award Function held in New Delhi on 3rd January 2020. Master Sai Rohan is also one of the win- ners of Action For Nature Eco Hero Award 2018, Jane Godall Roots and Shoots for the year 2019, Sharjah Environment Excel- lence Award 2019, International Princess Diana Award and John Muir Award 2019. Dunes International School congratulates our prodigy and his parents for making the school proud and awaits for much more in future. The awardee stood tall beaming with confi- dence and with a promise to reach greater heights.

‘Going out and experiencing real things makes learning enjoyable’. Field visit for students reinforces what a teacher has been explaining in class about various concepts and helps students understand the topic better. It gives students educational experiences away from their regular school environment . The purpose of field trips are important to bridge the gap between classroom edu- cation and hands on experience. Field trips particularly for school students can answer the question of how learning can be applied in life. Dunes International School has organised a field visit to the students of grade 3 to 5 on 9th January 2020. Students visited a farm at Shahama . The main objective of conducting a field trip for students is to reinforce experiential and contextual learning. The stu- dents achieved a higher level of critical thinking when they evaluated their own learning compared with what they are exposed to, and they were able to modify their knowledge based on their personal experiences.



'Victory is having done your best.' The much awaited Sports Heats for grades 3-5 was held on Monday day,6th and 7th January 2020, a day filled with great zeal, verve and vigour. Students of classes 3 to 5 competed their semi-finals in the customized and fun-filled track and field events . As the highly anticipated athletic events began and the budding athletes of Dunes International School ran for the finishing line, competitiveness among the students soared through the roof. The school campus reverberated with enthusiastic cheers from the spectators egging on the participants to bring victory and glory. It was a delight to see the excite- ment with which the students challenged themselves always demonstrating admirable sportsmanship. As the day came to a close and the exhausted students returned to the class-

Monochrome or monochromatic painting is one created using only one color or hue. Monochro- matic color schemes are derived from a single base hue and extended using its shades, tones and tints. Tints are achieved by adding white and shades and tones are achieved by adding a darker col- or, grey or black. ... This is not monochromatic in the strictly scientific meaning of the word. As a tool, monochrome painting can be used to dramatic effect to convey simplicity, peacefulness, stark- ness, purity, or other meaning.Students from grade 3 are creating a monochromatic drawing from their own creativity and imagination. This creative lesson will help them to develop designing skills and understand more about color gradient, tone difference and color shading skills.

Activity-based method of teaching helps the students in developing the desirable attitude towards learning with more attention, interest and motivation. Activity-based method of teaching provides a realistic, practical, learner centered and utilitarian values to the teaching learning process .It develops self-learning skill among the learners and allows a child to study according to his or her skill .The teach- er talked to students about school activities, and the students choose their favorite activity and repre- sent it in their own ideas.

HINDI ACTIVITY Friends helps us to deal with stress, make better lifestyle choices that keep us strong. Friendship is equally important to our mental health. One study even sug- gested spending time with posi- tive friends actually changes our outlook for the better. Students were told to gather the good qualities of friend. They wrote on the board. Some of the students shared their views about the importance of friends and some students told the class what good qualities they expect in their friends. We found some common good qualities such as - Honest. Loyal, Respectful, Trust- worthy, Non-Judgmental, Good Listener, Supportive, Self-Confident.

Digital competence allows students to take advantage of the wealth of new possibilities associated with digital technologies and the challenges they pose; digital learning tools and technology sharpen criti- cal thinking skills, which are the basis for the development of analytic reasoning.They also promote coop- eration and teamwork which are very important skills, in every aspect of life. We have made it part of our school mission for education to provide all our learners with high-level digital skills to ensure our young people are digitally competent, and evolve into enterprising, creative and critical thinkers. Grade 3 stu- dents did research work in their class on the topic astronauts and astronomers .They enjoyed learning by themselves using technology.

Social Studies See Think Wonder: A routine for exploring ideas. This routine encourages students to make careful observations and thoughtful interpretations. It helps stimulate curiosity and sets the stage for inquiry.The See-Think- Wonder thinking routine stresses the im- portance of inquiry-based thinking through close observations following a three-step process. It can be done at the beginning of a topic. students have to reflect on the ques- tions: What do you see? What do u think about it? What does it make you wonder? Grade 3 students discussed and shared the information about postal services by seeing the envelops, postal cards and letters which they cannot see widely now a days.

ENGLISH Role-play is a technique that allows stu- dents to explore realistic situations by interacting with other people in a man- aged way in order to develop experience and trial different strategies in a support- ed environment When children engage in role playing it helps to develop their way of thinking and helps them to develop feelings of empathy. It helps the children to develop commu- nication skills, teamwork, dialogue, nego- tiation, socialization. It stimulates the imagination and creativity; and develops a better understanding of human behav- iour and empathy with situations that might seem distant. The student learnt to enact the scene from a lesson in group and were able to experience the role and outlet self-expression and a way of learn- ing .

Smart learning programmes, new teachers' codes, licens- ing and evaluations systems, as well as curriculum revi- sion, including teaching math and science through Eng- lish, are all part of the strategy. A key area of focus has been to transform K-12 programmes, to ensure that stu- dents are fully prepared to attend universities around
